Stephanie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our missions statement: We offer high quality services at a price that people can afford without sacrificing sanitation or quality of product. Our salon offers a gathering place for friends, sisters, co-workers to relax, and enjoy good music, and great company. I check in regularly with our mission statement to make sure we are upholding the original vision of the store. It always makes me smile when I read it, because this was the exact vision I had when creating the store. I found myself in my early twenties not having a nail salon I could visit and feel comfortable. Some places met some of my criteria but other fell short. I knew that I could create an environment that not only educated our community on proper nail health but also be fun at the same time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello, my name is Stephanie Coulston and I am the owner/operator of Sundrops Nail Spot. The Arcadia location opened in September 2007. We are a hip, clean, and fun nail salon. We offer high quality services, at a reasonable rate, with an unbeatable team. We also have a awesome gift boutique at the front of our nail shop.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Consistency. We remain consistent in our services performed, our products that are purchased for the boutique, and how we communicate with our community.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I think our best strategy for growing our clientele has been feedback from our customers. We strive for feedback in all we do, if we aren’t able to learn from our mistakes we would never be able to grow and more forward with retaining clientele.
