Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Spacey Rivera. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Spacey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Hello, my name is Spacey & I’ve always had the dream of changing the way we see healing. In the crystal world, the views of healing have always been lateral. Beautiful crystal specimens are used for crystal healing alone & my goal has always been to put a spin on the way we heal. Meshing together anime & crystal energy, I use anime references to harness the energy of a character, scene or even an environment to help guide the wearer in their own unique journey. I believe that everyone’s journey is unique to them, which is why each of our designs are made one style at a time. Giving each item its own unique energy destined to find its own unique wearer.
Anime saved me as a youth & still saves me every day. I harness that love & my healer soul to spread true healing through my creations. As someone who comes from a family of healers, I take much pride in my jewelry as they are the vessels that carry out my mission to heal those who wear them, one unique item at a time.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Stay Spacey started as a small bracelet company where I made very simple designs for myself atop my bed. This humble beginning was where I found my direction. I got bored of the basic designs anime companies put out of anime merch & hated the little representation anime had in the crystal world. I felt crystals could heal more souls if they could be designed to cater those individual souls & not just those in the common community. That was where my journey of making anime themed pieces began. We branched off to making macrame pendants on beaded necklaces, painted charms for hangings & so much more. We want our business to be flexible & evolving, that way we can continue to heal souls in unique ways.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
We have built our own website on squarespace & have been using it for about two years now. We’ve enjoyed designing our website to our liking, but it can be hard at times to draw people to our site. Unlike pages like Etsy, we have to drive our own clientele to our page. We believe this is worth the struggle & risk because this means our clientele are true supporters of our craft. As so many apps steer away from supporting Small Businesses, we hope that there will be better ways for us to be seen.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
As I expressed earlier, I had a really troubling childhood. One filled of abuse & spiritual confusion, never learning of my healer roots until I was older & the path found me. When I first began this business, I was healing on my own journey & making pieces to help aid me. Watching anime was a very simple way I gained motivation & perseverance when I began not only my healing journey, but my business, anime is what kept me going time & time again. But there was a period of time where my abuser found me again & tried to take credit for all I built. I almost fell back into old habits. After almost dropping my business altogether, I remembered why I started this journey. To help people who were healing like me. To heal people on their individual paths. & I’ve never stopped ever since.
