Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Solange Zindzi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Solange, thanks for joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
As for most people, was the Pandemic a define moment of change for me too. Not only for me as a person but also in my personality, identity and career. I felt like I lost a big part of myself during this time since I couldn’t dance and perform anymore. I was forced to think outside of the box and to start creating a new life path for myself. After identifying myself for years as mostly a Dancer, I now suddenly added a new titel to my name, which was Author… Author then turned into blogger and after finalizing my coaching certifications, I was able to add ‘Mindset Coach’ to my name as well which evolved into becoming a business owner.
The covid-19 pandemic has turned many lives upside-down and it may have forced all of us to create a new normal life for ourselves. But what is normal anyway? Nothing is ever normal or the same, and life never goes back to how things were before certain events happened, simply because the same doesn’t exist. It’s never the same after a break-up, a traumatic experience, a travel adventure, studying abroad, a new friendship, a new job, a newborn baby or just as simple as after a good night’s sleep. This past pandemic may have created an enormous shock to the system for many, but I believe that together, we can always go into a new future, as everybody will have experienced some form of loss during this period, and that itself could have created more understanding between each other.
Whichever form of loss you may have experienced, I learned that it was important to take the time to redefine and re-invent myself while allowing myself to grieve. Whatever feelings you may have experienced about your personal loss, know all those feelings were valid. It became important to try to find value and meaning in what had happened and as much as I felt like I had lost a part of my identity, I realized soon enough that this loss didn’t make me less me but actually created room to become more of myself. Even without this job (person, status, money, dream or thing), I realized I was still 100% me, even when I forgot for a second what that felt like.
During this time, I took the time to redefine myself while getting my true-self back. This became the season of reminding myself that the purest form of myself is my soul and that my true self is never only identified by one of my losses of life. I learned that during unfortunate times, I believe you have to put in even more self-work and this had become the start of my new identity, career and my business.
Looking back now, I couldn’t be more grateful for this season of growth which forced me to move from living with passion to living with purpose.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a passionate dancer, author, blogger, model, speaker, certified life & mindset coach, NLP practitioner, hypnosis practitioner, certified movement & fitness coach, and glow-getter expert. I help people with explicit dreams to create incredible transformation in their lives! I’m on a real mission to show curious beings the true powers which they were born with and this is one of the main reasons I am so passionate about helping dreamers embrace their truest version of themselves, so they gain enough self-trust to ‘solo jump’ towards their personal desires.
I feel super dedicated to teach others how to shift their own reality to a more supportive one so they feel confident enough to aim for the sky! I have found the formula to make these transformations solid and I feel it in my core that it’s my purpose to spread the message to as many people as I can!
From a young age, I was constantly daydreaming about my future. I have danced through life, experiencing different cultures and lifestyles while traveling to more than 50 countries, making my big dreams my reality. It feels amazing, knowing I have manifested my biggest dreams in physical form: from skydiving, to living in New York City, eating real pizza in Italy, being a showgirl in Germany, visiting Thailand, camping in Australia, dancing on cruise ships in the Caribbean, watching sunsets in Hawaii, hiking the Machu Picchu in Peru, moving to Los Angeles, and performing on the biggest stages and in the most incredible theatres and arenas around the world. I really have been manifesting my wildest dreams and experienced life like I was constantly dreaming with my eyes wide open.
Through my blog, book (solo jump), workshop and coaching courses I hope to inspire and connect with people, and give them the life changing tools they have been looking for. I truly believe it’s my job to make somebody ‘feel’ something and mostly to bring them back in alignment with their truest, bravest self.
As someone who has always had huge dreams, I realized early on, I had to be brave if I wanted to aim to achieve them all. Bravery is a skill and, like all skills, it can be learned, strengthened and mastered with repeated practice. Daring myself to be brave in life has felt so good, paid off for me, and has given me so many rewards. Each time I dare, my ‘be-brave-muscle’ grows, together with my assurance to believe in myself. Everyone holds braveness inside them, yes, you too! Some of us just need a little more help bringing that braveness to life. Once you discover this side of you, nothing will stop you! Which is why, I believe, becoming the bravest version of yourself does not only make the world a better place but also inspires the people around you, to believe in themselves and their braveness too. Through my coaching, I will help others strengthen their own ‘be-brave-muscle’ while they have their own inspiring influence on the people around them. It’s a win-win situation, how cool is that?!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn was trying to be ‘perfect’ before I could start. I learned over time that you simply have to start and that starting will bring you to your own kind of perfect. Practice creates progress and through failing you become better. You don’t have to know it all to do it all, you simply need to know your own strengths and weaknesses so you know what you should be doing and know what you should give out of hands.
I’m a very curious person so I loved learning so many new things. As I started a completely, new journey, I had to allow myself to be vulnerable and to be ok with asking for help and for having many questions… Patience is key and therefore I had to unlearn to have it all ready right within this second or think I needed to have all the answers at all times.
The more space I allow for myself and my business to grow, the better it becomes, and the more I love being a business owner.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
You’re always on. Even when I’m not working, I’m working… I’m constantly digesting life’s information and experiences. As an entrepreneur, you’re always anticipating the next steps, which means there’s a constant movement happening inside your head but also inside your life. Becoming a business owner means that nobody is telling you what to do besides what you tell yourself has to be done. Entrepreneurs truly need to be fully dedicated to making sure they’re almost always five steps ahead of themselves, and this can sometimes be challenging as you don’t always have a clear idea of what you actually should be doing.
Allowing yourself, besides this all, to continue to solo jump through life (taking that leap of faith) while following your heart and trusting your gut, would be my best advice. This is your journey and your business. Don’t allow outsiders and other people to bring back your self-doubt in moments of uncertainty. You’re the main character in your own movie, so don’t let your co-player take over by allowing them to rewrite the direction of your story. This is your story and your business!
