We recently connected with Simon and Stephanie Simon and have shared our conversation below.
Simon and Stephanie , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The Simon´s House started during the year of 2006, when I began to ask The Lord questions about doing the things that I loved—which was helping those who were less fortunate. I am a man who has a heart for people, and I realized that this was part of God’s purpose for me. I began praying and seeking The Lord for answers. And through seeking, trusting, fasting and praying and having faith in God The Simon´s House was born. God was giving me everything I needed and one of them was my wife Stephanie who has played a major role in helping The Simon’s House unfold. We are a power couple doing the work of The Lord. God was and still is opening doors no man can close and closing doors no man can open. We was blessed to receive our 501C3 and from there we started just going out feeding the homeless and helping people with some of their needs and doing it outer pocket. Moving from here to having our own Simon’s House property So we celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony and during the process of building we received a phone call to take over another food Pantry and at the moment we have 5 food pantries. The Simon’s House is not just about our food pantries. We also provide Mentorship, coaching, support, and encouragement. And we work with less fortunate people: homeless, poor and needy, veterans, single parents, and children to help instill change. For those individuals just released from prison we provide mentorship to help ensure a long-term successful re-entry into society..

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Simon and I am the founder and my wife Stephanie is the operations manager. The Simon’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We got into this ministry when God gave me a vision. So Stephanie and I work really hard to follow God’s instructions because this is His ministry and we’re just co-laborers with Him.. As a God centered community, we believe that there’s good in every person so we will always lead by example to show those in need that there’s still people out there that genuinely care by providing compassion and love to them for this is what God is made up of. And leave them with dignity and a hand up not a hand out.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
My Business partner is my wife, Stephanie Simon. We met at a Burger King. I asked her was she looking or waiting? She said, “I’m waiting on God and if you didn’t come from Him you’ve got to keep going.” So we started dating and I asked her another question. I said, do you mind if I ask God if you could be my wife? She said, “no not at all because I’m going to ask The Lord if you’re the one. She said that The Lord said that this will be the man that you will grow with in my word. And we got married and we became partners in everything we do.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
It’s to treat people the way you would want to be treated. And have respect, be firm and polite at the same time. Keep your place of business clean because it represents you and smile when you don’t want to because it’s not for you it’s for the people watching you.
