We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shweta Vasudeva. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shweta below.
Shweta, appreciate you joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
It’s been an overwhelming journey. I love what i do and i am extremely lucky to earn a decent living with the profession i have chosen. I started my career as a Dance Instructor and taught for 6 years while simultaneously working in IT industry as a Software Engineer. Currently, i am working actively as an Independent Artist as an Actress / Model/ Emcee / Dancer and travel throughout USA. To get paid as a performing artist is a challenge specially in the South Asian community considering many of my female contenders are purely here pursuing as a side hobby. Hence it’s challenging to deal with clients sometimes. But my experience of working 2 years in the Entertainment field has given me fair experience of dealing with it and I have generated a decent bio to get paid gigs and thankful to VINTERNATIONAL INC for representing me. Also, been thankful to my agency for getting me substantial work in commercials.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
