We recently connected with Shun & Ralph and have shared our conversation below.
Shun & Ralph, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
Learning the difference between business and relation. When starting to podcast we naturally pushed our friends and family to support, some did some didn’t, but we realized later after we made a few changes, a lot of our supporters are strangers. We created a fb group that grew from suggested members inviting new people and they started supporting the show and still continue to do so and not because of relation.

Shun & Ralph, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We started the podcast as an open forum where we could talk about all aspects of life on an adult level with different perspectives. As we moved forward, we wanted to highlight all things black, shine a light on our culture and the people that contribute to it in every way, either good or bad. We also like to interview black owned business owners, promote their products and encourage spending more money with your own people. We also like to showcase individuals that do work throughout the community, share their stories and just create a platform for more ears and eyes to witness. With all of these concepts in motion we from our own opinions and our passion often spills into the shows, which leads to colorful debates and great talking points. Overall we look to entertain, educate, promote and provide for our culture.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
We enjoy being able to reach people, deliver a message and have fun while entraining. We also like to promote and help other businesses that stand to help and provide for the black community.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We started out with doing the show and promoting it from word of mouth, friends and family. We later created a FB room and would post topics that we cover within the podcast. As the topics got better, the room grew and others invited other like minded people and from there things began to expand.
