Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shonte White . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shonte, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope I will be remembered for creating memories with those around me and for making people laugh or smile. If I can leave this earth and change at least once persons life or multiples, then I would have done what I feel like I was born for and that is to help people. I hope my legacy will carry on in my daughter, and she will grow to also help people, not exactly in the way I would like to, but in her own unique way. When I am gone I hope people can say that I was a good mother because being a parent is the most important thing in the world to me, and to be the person that people can come to in time of need, or for encouraging words or actions, because that is the imprint I want to leave on this earth

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Shonte and I have podcast called Sippinwithshonte. It’s a comedic podcast that provides laughter while sipping on a cocktail. I also recently became a certified Life Coach, and I am in the process of starting my self-care/life coach business called It’s Just Self-Care Sis! I started podcasting because I wanted to make people laugh. This world is so chaotic now, if I can make someone smile or laugh for just 30 minutes a week, then it is always my pleasure to do so. After the encouragement from my family and friends I embarked on a personal self-care and I learned that self-care is so important and people need to learn how important it is to take care of you. From there I achieved my Life Coaching Certification, and now my goal is to help women achieve their ultimate goals and live their best lives.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I knew how important a mentor is when you are embarking on a new journey that you are unfamiliar with. It’s so much harder to do things alone and there is nothing wrong with asking for help, and learning from someone in the same field. A would encourage anyone to find a mentor, or surround yourself with people with common goals or in the same field is you and ask questions, take notes, make the time to learn so that you can elevate

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Be authentic. People love to get to know the real you. Let people in, you don’t have to necessarily share everything personal but it’s okay to let people know the real you. Also be consistent. Once people enjoy your content they are going to want more from you, so stay consistent. You also want to interactive with your followers, make sure they know that you support them as much as they support you.
