We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sho. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with SHo below.
SHo, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
The art of writing, I became a fan once I heard a old school song that my mother use to play. By the artist Coolio the song was “Gangsta Paradise”. It was so captive that I could almost see what he was saying in the song. The art of storytelling. I fell in love . So I went through my phase of imitating, until I finally decided to give it a try. I did simple rhythm an rhymes until I got got the hang of being comfortable with my voice. Then the pen seem to take on a life of its own.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I decided once I came home , to take my music seriously. I knew I had a gift, an I wanted to share it to the world. Problem was.. I didn’t know where to start. Or how . So I went the meeting people, some were very good at what they do, an saw my talent an determination an given me valuable lessons an advice, meanwhile others who like to think they are better or superior would like to keep things the way they are or what I call “Gate Keeping”. But my dream of being recognized for my craft was straight an narrow. I double down on my grind an my networking until I started to surround myself with like minded people. It hasn’t been easy but it’s definitely something that has given me the strength when I thought I should just let it go.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me being a artist is about the freedom of speech, simply put a way to tell our truths. Life is in music in so many ways different genres. Being able to touch people’s hearts an minds with your words.. it’s poetic and powerful.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Content!! I can’t stress enough how Important it is to use the algorithm an the Internet. It really helps with being seen. Like I said it’s not easy but it definitely helps.
