We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sherrod Scott a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Sherrod , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

Well I would say the most important thing my parents showed me was how to have Faith in God. Even tho both of my parents really didn’t have both of there parents coming up they managed to raise 4 amazing kids. My Mom lost her Mom at age 13 and had to become an adult at that age to raise her younger siblings. My Dad had his Mom but his father was absent. Through all the tough times my parents remained together for 50 years before my Dad Passed in 2018. I have never seen a more Faithful wife and a woman of God but my Mom has shown me that in her 75 years on this earth. I know her prayers for my life carried me and has protected me over the years I would say I was lost and bond.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Well I gave my life to Jesus at age 18 and was on a very strong walk with God but life and it’s temptations had me fall away. I got into Gambling the Night Life of promoting and Hosting Latina Clubs. I went by the Name Rizz from 2002 until January 2025. January 12th 2025 I gave my life back to Jesus. In the mist of all this I was in deep depression anxiety I felt as if I was headed to death. I couldn’t walk talk or even understand regular day to day life. I was out of work from December 24th until March 26 2025. In those 3 months after January 12th I totally surrender my life God gave everything to him and one night I woke up and the Desire for Gambling was no longer there the Desire for the Night Life was gone. I no longer lusted after Women that wasn’t my wife. I was totally Delivered and Free at age 46. It all came thru fasting and praying and reading the word of God but having faith and trusting God totally not doubting. So that’s when I let go of the Name Rizz and Began to go by my Birth Name Sherrod Scott aka S.Scott. I began to see the vision God had showed me at 18 to promote his word and that’s when I was linked up with and Awesome Gospel Rap Artist name Mike Pennino thru my Nephew DJ PAKIN. God put on my heart to feed the Homeless but do a Gospel Rap Exsplosion. This started me on my Journey my purpose God had for me at age 18 but if I hadn’t had the hard times or not seen the Grace and Mercy of God’s Delivering Power this wouldn’t have been possible..All Glory is to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We had our first ever Gospel Rap Exsplosion May 24th 2025 and are heading to our Second one August 2nd 2025 Gods will

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My Mission is the promote the Gospel with Music so that the world can see that Jesus is real. I’ve been blessed with a group of Amazing Gospel Rap Artist Mike Pennino DEXDADISCIPLE 4EverDaniel Thomas Pgo.Melvin

How did you build your audience on social media?

So Honestly my Social Media Audience isn’t the biggest yet. I honestly don’t look at numbers so much as who I’m really impacting. I’d rather have 20 followers who are real for me then 10k who are Fake.
