We recently connected with Sherria Green and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sherria, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always been passionate about early childhood education, and over the years I’ve seen firsthand how much children, teachers, and families struggle when social-emotional learning isn’t prioritized. Most programs focus almost entirely on academics while children aren’t always given the tools to understand or manage their emotions. I remember experiencing that myself as a child. Not having support for my own social-emotional development affected my confidence and made me realize just how important it is for children to feel seen and heard, and to know that feelings like anger or sadness are okay.
As I worked in classrooms, directed a preschool, collaborated with families and support staff, and coached teachers, I kept seeing the same gap repeated over and over. I knew there had to be a better way to help children and the adults in their lives. That’s when the vision for Green Education Solutions came to me. I truly feel that this was a calling from God, He gave me the mission and the path to create something that could make a meaningful difference. What excited me most about the idea was the chance to help children develop strategies to cope, self-regulate, and thrive emotionally, while also supporting the adults around them. I knew this was a worthwhile endeavor because I could see the real, long-term impact it could have on children’s lives, on teachers, and on families.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve spent my career helping children, teachers, and families thrive in early childhood education. I’ve worked in classrooms, directed a preschool, collaborated with families, and partnered with therapists and support staff for children with various exceptionalities. Experiencing these different perspectives has given me a deep understanding of the challenges children face, as well as the needs of the adults guiding them, and has shaped the holistic approach I take in my work.
Through Green Education Solutions, I provide a comprehensive social-emotional learning curriculum for children from infancy through preschool. Our programs include engaging characters, original music, affirmations, and hands-on activities that help children understand and manage their emotions. We also support teachers, families, and even therapists by offering practical strategies, resources, and consulting services to help with behavior and classroom management, creating environments where children feel seen, heard, and supported. Beyond the curriculum, I provide on-site education consulting for preschools and elementary programs, helping schools implement social-emotional learning strategies effectively and supporting staff in fostering positive classroom dynamics.
What sets Green Education Solutions apart is our focus on the whole child, connecting social-emotional learning in a practical, and engaging way. Many programs focus only on academics, but we know children need tools to manage all emotions and adults need guidance to reinforce these skills in everyday life. My perspective, paired with my experience and education, allows us to provide solutions that are both research-based and deeply meaningful.
I’m most proud of seeing children and adults grow together by using our tools and strategies to create nurturing and supportive environments. My educational background consists of a bachelor’s in Child Development, a master’s in Brain-Based Teaching and Learning, and a certification in Mental Health Coaching, combined with real-world experience, which allows me to deliver programs that are practical, impactful, and transformative. I want potential clients to know that with Green Education Solutions, we’re not just teaching skills, we’re empowering educators, children, and families by creating communities where every child feels valued and supported.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I was a child, I didn’t really have support for understanding and managing my emotions, which affected my confidence and how I approached challenges. Later, as I entered the field of early childhood education, I saw the same struggles in children, and often in the adults who cared for them. Starting Green Education Solutions was not an easy journey. Building a business that combines social-emotional learning with curriculum, engaging characters, and tools to support children and teachers, required countless late nights, problem-solving on the fly, and navigating the gaps in a system that didn’t always value this work.
There were times when projects didn’t go as planned or when I faced financial and logistical challenges, but I kept going because I knew this work mattered. My strength and resilience comes from God. My goal has always been to stay focused on the vision, which is to support the whole child and the adults guiding them, even when the path wasn’t clear. Every time I hear about a child responding to our curriculum, or a parent sharing how a strategy we provided changed their environment, I’m reminded that resilience isn’t just about pushing through; it’s about holding onto your purpose and letting God guide every decision.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I started my career, I was focused primarily on teaching. Over time, I realized that while I could make an impact in one classroom or one school, there was a much larger need for systemic support in social-emotional learning for young children. That realization prompted a pivot. I decided to create Green Education Solutions, a platform and curriculum that could reach children, teachers, and families more broadly.
This pivot wasn’t easy. It required learning how to build curriculum, create playful characters, develop a platform for SEL tools, and also offer consulting services to schools. It meant stepping outside my comfort zone, taking risks, and figuring out how to translate my hands-on experience into scalable solutions. It was also incredibly rewarding, because this shift allowed me to take my passion for supporting the whole child and turn it into a business and platform that can have a much larger, lasting impact.
