We were lucky to catch up with Shauna Jaune recently and have shared our conversation below.

Shauna , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

As the founder and CEO of HER Modeling Agency, I believe my legacy extends beyond the business itself. I strive to leave a lasting impact on the modeling industry by fostering an environment of inclusivity, empowerment, and professionalism.

When reflecting on what people might say about me after I’m gone, I hope they remember me as someone who challenged norms and championed diversity within an industry often criticized for its lack thereof. I aspire to be remembered for creating opportunities for aspiring models regardless of their background, ethnicity, or body type, thereby reshaping societal standards of beauty.

Ultimately, I aim to be remembered not just for building a successful agency, but for contributing to a more inclusive and accepting world where every individual feels valued and represented.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My journey in the modeling world began with my passion for fashion and creativity. With over five years of runway and print experience, I made her mark as a successful model, earning a coveted spot with a modeling agency in NYC. However, my path was not without its challenges.

Throughout , my career, I encountered both the glamorous and the difficult aspects of the modeling industry. These experiences shaped my perspective and fueled my desire to create a better environment for aspiring models. Determined to make a difference, i established HER Modeling Agency in 2022.

HER Modeling Agency , under my leadership, is dedicated to providing top-notch modeling services, personalized attention, and exclusive opportunities. My vision is to empower models, helping them build successful careers while connecting them with reputable brands. HER Modeling Agency stands as a testament to my resilience, expertise, and commitment to elevating the modeling industry.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

As the Founder and CEO of HER Modeling Agency, my approach to managing a team and maintaining high morale centers around open communication, mutual respect, and continuous development. I believe in creating a supportive environment where every team member feels valued and heard. Regular feedback sessions and team-building activities are integral to fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie. Moreover, investing in professional growth through training and development opportunities ensures that our team remains motivated and at the forefront of industry trends. By prioritizing these aspects, we not only cultivate a positive work culture but also drive our collective success.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

HER Modeling Agency was established in 2022, and our first year was marked by both great successes and significant challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we faced was building a dedicated team as a non-paid modeling agency that was just starting fresh. We did our best with the team members we had, but as the models’ contracts were coming to an end, our initial team decided to part ways.

This left me with the opportunity and necessity to rebrand the agency. During this rebranding phase, I carefully reviewed all the feedback and identified areas where we could improve based on our first-year experiences. This introspection and planning were crucial for the successful relaunch of HER Modeling Agency.

Today, I am proud to say that we have an amazing team of eight dedicated individuals, with interviews lined up back-to-back, and we are growing every day. This pivot taught me the importance of resilience and adaptability in business, and it has laid a stronger foundation for our agency’s future success.
