We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shanie Ecole a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Shanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

Honestly I have a a few, some were mine and others I’ve had the privilege to be a part of. “Telling Secrets Since Birth” was my first It was a collection of poetry. It was not just my first time allowing others to read my poetry , but letting the world in. I am grateful because it prepared me for my next project “Healing Granted, a journey in self love.. I can’t tell you I was completely ready when I started getting the creative nudges, but I can tell you it was worth it. Healing Granted brought me tears , joy and showed me resilience. It was created to help others rediscover or recognize parts of themselves that they felt like were missing as well as mental health. It includes journaling space, affirmations, and poetry to name a few . It was originally designed to be an audiobook only but expanded into so much more. Creating Healing Granted opened the door for the opportunity to perform at the Composed Music Festival, a mental health awareness festival as well as Iconix Music Festival.

Shanie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I was Born November 16th in Woodbury, NJ and raised in Detroit. I began sharing my gift at the age of 11. My name is Shanie Ecole but known by many names Sunshine, Shanie the artist, Shanie The Poet I hails as the “Original Sunshine Princess of Poetry” I’ve been featured on Yung-Ro’s The Counselor Album, Blacksnow’s Just Tryna Live My Dreams Album to numerous charitable events including of my favorites…I’m a Survivor Seminar. My vision expanded into my book “Telling Secrets Since Birth”. I’ve hosted Snow Industries open mic shows at various venues as well as I.A.G Productions Events but
refusing to allow anyone to place me in a box I ventured into the acting world and have been in plays such as Karma, the Scarlet Letter, Millennium Women of Color and the Millicent Bradford Adoption Story as well as the movie: Love Is … and Pipedreams. I started a line of note cards and paintings under the name of “You are Poetry ” as well as a plus sized line of shirts, dresses and purses called Poetically Thick aimed at empowering women of all sizes. I’m a plus sized model, as well as a former spokesperson for March of Dimes, “Go Before You Show” campaign. I have also had the pleasure of being a internet radio personality on “Grow Your Mind and Money” and the Host of “Shanie’s Sunshine Lounge”which airs on old grumpyradio.com. I had the honor of writing and performing the Iconix Radio station’s theme “Are You The Next Icon ”. My up and coming show “The P Word” due to air on Iconix Radio 2024.
I began my journey in healing as a Lightworker a few years ago, not realizing it had begun long before I noticed it.
It has been nothing more rewarding and challenging(besides motherhood) but who doesn’t love a good challenge? So I started searching for my life’s purpose and while on the way acquired several certifications as well as learning different energy healing modalities. I use my Divine intuition as well as her Angels, Dragons and Spirit Guides to help guide you on your higher path. I am a Angelic Reiki Master, Dragon Energy Certified, Angel Oracle and Tarot Certified Card reader, Altantean Healing Practitioner, Angelic Mediumship Practitioner, Crystal Skull Guardian and
Healing Granted is another beautiful piece to the journey. In essences this Sunshine’s Divine Light

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Yes absolutely! Love drives me! Love rules everything!
love of people, love for our planet, love of music. Love comes in so many forms, for me my first love was poetry. It taught me about the love I deserve and needed, the love I was missing and how to accept love. “Healing Granted” helps you connect with that part of yourself, then how to lovingly release and rediscover the love you are carrying. I’ve been able to help so many people by sharing my journey from poetry to Healing.
My goal is to help people by giving them the tools to creatively shift their journey and heal thems8hl.lelves.qq

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding part has to be the people that I have helped by sharing my gifts. You never know what someone else is going through. When people stop me and tell me one of my poems is their daily affirmation I’m so humbled by that. Or somone says the book I wrote made an impact on their life by helping them release their pain and old baggage. I’m so full of gratitude. The fact that I’ve been able to make a difference in someone else’s life is a beautiful thing. I’m honored to have been a part of their healing journey.
