We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shamon Powell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shamon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Starting my podcast was the biggest risk I ever took on myself, I had no support, money or even an idea but I truly knew I wanted to do this I truly fell in love with podcasting watching don’t call me white girl and watching female artists interviews! The conversations, the vibes, the creativity is amazing! I’m so glad I took this risk and to anyone that wants to do something different with your life for the good! Do it !,

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Shamond! I’m truly one in a million, I’m a creative! I don’t like putting myself into a category because I’m multitalented and I love trying new things!, I got into the creative industry by truly using my artistic skills and applying them to my content! I’ve always been passionate for the arts! I went to a performing art school , Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts. I did dance , art , orchestra and choir, drama the whole time of elementary school! I truly loved it I been knew i was meant to create but going through life and it’s challenging obstacles you start doubting yourself but when you truly believe in yourself nothing can stop you

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to bring more positive opportunities and options for the people of Louisville! My mission is to bring people together and help each other

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Meeting new people and learning new things with fashion, music etc
