We were lucky to catch up with Sean Lopez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sean thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
2020. We all know that year to be the year of the pandemic. At the time I was still doing mobile treatment throughout the DFW area, but stopped for about two and a half months due to CDC guidelines. During this time, while many businesses were being forced to shut down, I was in the process of looking for a physical office location. Many people loosing their jobs, businesses closing down, and I’m looking for an opportunity to create a start up.

Sean, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Sean Lopez and I am a Manual Therapist (Sports/Rehab Massage Therapist). I first built my business and clientele providing mobile services throughout the DFW area for about five years. I don’t consider myself as your traditional Massage Therapist, I get my clients very actively involved during treatment sessions. I emphasize functional movement during treatments and consider all of my treatments to be very postural related.
Many people may think I just target towards competitive athletes and that’s not true, anyone can benefit from the kind of treatment that I do. If you’re seeking to move better, ease out of pain, or want to look better by improving your posture, then I can definitely help you out.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Passion. If you’re thinking about starting a business, go and start something you are passionate about. As entrepreneurs, you’re going to work long hours no days off. If you’re passionate about what you do, the long hours everyday won’t seem like much of a burden and cause you stress.
Yes, making money is cool and all, but it’s even better making money while doing something you’re absolutely passionate about.

How’d you meet your business partner?
I met Larry Hernandez (Physical Therapist Assistant) while buying equipment for the office on Facebook marketplace. We connected, and he joined me at the office. My office not only offers Massage Therapy, but now Physical Therapy through On Point Movement + Performance, for those seeking rehabilitation.
