We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Savannah and Ryan Parker. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Savannah and Ryan below.
Alright, Savannah and Ryan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Ryan: Well we learned about graphic design and photography in college. We both majored in graphic design at Barry university in Miami Shores. I know me personally, I had a great experience learning these skills because I had not only professors teaching me but my sister as well. I would say something that I know now that I wish I knew back then would have to be shortcuts in Adobe. When I would work on things back then, It would take me longer than it should’ve because I did everything manually. A skill that is most essential to me would creative thinking. Art is a field that really challenges you to think outside of the box, which is something we strive to do everyday. There were some obstacles we faced along the way. For me, I would say at the beginning I struggled with feeling confident in the work that I was putting out. I had to realize that as long as I believed in my work, other would too.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Savannah: We are a graphic design and photography business. We offer a wide range of services such as web design, product photography, portraits, and branding, to name a few. We’ve always had a passion for art, but we really gained a love for graphic design during our time in college. I think what attracted us to graphic design specifically was the fact that you can do so much with it. I feel that that’s the best part of our job; it’s always different. One day we’ll be working on a billboard and the next, we’ll be working on a model’s comp card. Photography stays interesting as well. I work on a wide variety of projects, but my first love will always be portraits and fashion photography. Something about seeing someone put on their best outfit and light up in front of the camera is magical! We want our clients to know that we are the team that is going to bring their vision to life and give them the best experience working with us. I’m most proud of our ability to bring our respective art styles together to create beautiful visuals for our clients.

Any advice for managing a team?
Savannah: The advice I would give for managing a team and maintaining high morale is listening to each other and constant words of encouragement. No one knows it all, and everyone’s opinion is valid. We should constantly be learning new things and be open to critiques from our peers. Listening and learning is the key to growth. No one should feel bad about needing help or not knowing certain things. That’s what working in a team is all about—lifting each other up and growing together.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Ryan: Our goal is to expand our platform and better ourselves as artists. We are always looking to learn new things that help better our craft. We also want to share our knowledge by one day teaching children in our community graphic design and photography. Knowledge is power and we strive for the opportunity to give back to our community by spreading our knowledge.
