We were lucky to catch up with Sasha Vasquez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sasha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Hi there, I’m Sasha Vasquez, the founder of Mintii! I have always been obsessed with fashion and the idea of looking your best with the simplest fabrics. Having had my first child as a teenager (18 yo), I struggled a lot with balancing work and my personal wellbeing. More importantly pushing to not be a statistic. After having my second child and graduating college, I took full control of my life and worked towards a respectable corporate career.
But something within me wanted so much more. Growing up in a Dominican community, I was inspired by my parents’ hard work and individual success. As a child, I loved painting and drawing cartoon characters. And many years later after losing my sister to alcoholism, having toiled as a teen mom, going through divorce, and fighting for corporate success, I finally found my escape in FASHION.
An escape where i can release my feminine side and embrace other women.
My unwavering dedication to entrepreneurship is rooted in my fierce determination to empower resilient women, ensuring they not only look their best but exude unshakeable confidence and self-worth. For
me, entrepreneurship is not just a professional pursuit but a personal one deeply tied to my family’s happiness and my own mental health.

Any advice for managing a team?
An advise on managing a team and fostering creativity is keeping a positive environment. How we speak to each other plays a role, something I learned in the past is saying “yes and”. Agreeing to other peoples ideas and adding what you may have as an idea and why both can be tried. Taking a moment and sharing appreciation. We are social beings, and to a degree yearn for acceptance. I believe the book how to win friends and influence people is key to understand how you can motivate and give feedback.
Another factor that helps with morale is having a mission statement. The brand has a mission statement to have options that embrace minimalistic luxury. Now the team know what the end goal is. The journey that will get us there will always look different because we all have our own ideas.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The idea of Mintii came at a time where I encountered different challenges. The passing of my sister made this mission more personal. My time needed to be properly managed since I had a big wedding a few months into the year. It was challenging me in ways I’ve never been pushed before. I Just knew that at the end of the day I wanted a different qualify of life. I wanted to inspire others that may had to endure different phases of life. I had to find time and money to educate myself in online businesses. I met with my coach who helped me develop my business plan and funding.
Creating milestones that allowed me to mark each achievement created a sense of accomplishment before launching my online shop.
