We were lucky to catch up with Sarah Rosenkrantz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
All of my projects have been meaningful and have represented where I was on my journey at that time. Understanding why I am doing something, what motivates me in my very core to create, keeps pushing me further along in life and is what inspires me to keep creating.
I will always remember when I was living in Berlin and made an album with my brother. We used a USB mic taped to a coat hanger and collaborated with local artists including a cellist and horn player. This was such a special experience because it was completely organic in its manifestation. Over 2 months we recorded, produced and designed by hand the album. This was my first album and will always remain a treasure in my heart. I could not have done this without my brother and friends who joined me along every step of the journey.
Sarah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Born and raised on the Connecticut coast (for the most part) I grew up watching musicals on stage…and on VHS ;) At a young age I began taking dance lessons—compliments of an 80-year old former Rockette—as well as piano and guitar lessons, all while taking the stage at a local theatre. Later on I went to performing arts schools in Connecticut and California where I took classes in music, dance, and acting.
Music, art, and dance has brought me around the world—to Europe, Brazil, India, and the Middle East—furthering my experience and perspective in my creative journey.
My current music project, Fawn in the Garden, is an empower pop, synth, 80’s dance genre that supports and encourages all beings to come together to celebrate their talents and passions.
I have just released a new album, REVELATIONS, which is an Empower Pop experience to heal, motivate and inspire all to keep on keeping on.
Featuring my unique blend of pop, synth, 80’s dance, my sound has evolved and is as diverse as it is captivating—from soaring vocals reminiscent of the 80s New Wave era to upbeat dance rhythms that will have you out of your seat in no time! My lyrics are designed to inspire self-love and confidence in my listeners while also encouraging them to strive for greatness in all they do—both personally and professionally!
I want my music to be a vehicle for people to find their own sense of freedom and power within themselves, and the courage to create in boundless expression.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
There is no separation between life and art for me. I continue to evolve and become myself. This is most rewarding because I am living and finding my truth everyday. Art and life walk together in the most beautiful expression of being, encompassing everything that was, is, and will be. The reward? I am living my dreams and I get to inspire others as well.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
As time has become more precious to me, I get clearer about my mission. I recently looked back on some songs I wrote years ago, and only finally understood them through who I am now. It is amazing to rediscover work and find new meaning.
My mission is to keep kindling the inner fire that burns within me to create, as well as to inspire others. Self empowerment has given me so many opportunities and has completely shifted my perspective of life.
As I nurture my capacity to stay open, I am continuing to cultivate the part of me that shelters new insight. This is my favorite part of being an artist.
