We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Fanelli. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Sarah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Innovation comes in all shapes, sizes and across all industries, so we’d love to hear about something you’ve done that you feel was particularly innovative.
In 1996 I went to a 4-year college to study graphic design. I graduated in 2000 and received my BFA in graphic design with a concentration in illustration. After 9 years of working behind a desk in corporate, I realized it wasn’t for me and I ventured out to become a personal trainer. I opened my business in 2009 and never looked back! I knew I was on the right path because I have such a passion for fitness and helping people. Over the last 15+ years I have touched and changed so many lives, which is extremely rewarding. I still use my graphic design skills and think of my degree as a stepping stone for further success. I wouldn’t change anything. I help women 35+ who already workout, don’t see results and need help with belly fat and hip/glute areas. My online program has helped so many clients change their lives.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My services offer a 12-week program to women over 35+. The intimate relationship between myself and each client must carry a bond. I create a custom, personalized nutrition plan catered to their goals. They also receive a custom gym/ home workout each day. There are daily or weekly check-ins with accountability and goals that must be met! I highly recommend all women ages 35+ to check out my services!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
For 15 years I had a fitness studio where my clients came to participate in 30 minute sessions. Last September 2022, my husband and I made the decision to move from Massachusetts to southern Utah! This meant that I had to pick up my established business and start all over! Today, I have stopped in-person training sessions and have converted to only online-clients!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I have always loved fitness modeling! My photos have appeared in many fitness magazines around the world! Most of my following comes from Instagram on my 3 accounts. (@sarah_fanelli (modeling), @sarah.fitover40 (backup) and @fitvideo_sarah (workout videos). I receive a lot of followers from other fitness and modeling profiles who share the same content. So many people are inspired by my physique and progress.
