We were lucky to catch up with Sarah Bond recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. Other times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.
Failure has been a constant teacher for me in my business journey. One area where I’ve felt this deeply is through the trial and error of building my online systems and programs. I’ve revamped and restructured them so many times, and honestly, each time it felt a bit like starting over. It’s easy to get discouraged in those moments, but I’m learning to shift my perspective. Every revision, every tweak, every “failure” is actually part of the process. It’s how my business evolves and grows stronger.
These experiences remind me that growth isn’t always linear—it’s messy and uncomfortable, but that’s where the magic happens. With each setback, I learn more about what works, what doesn’t, and how I can better serve my clients. Failure isn’t the end; it’s a necessary step on the path to success.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Sarah, a fitness coach, entrepreneur, and former level 10 gymnast passionate about helping women build strength, confidence, and a healthier relationship with their bodies. My journey into this industry began with my own love for movement and discipline, cultivated through years as a competitive gymnast. Those experiences taught me the value of perseverance, adaptability, and self-belief—qualities that now drive my work as a trainer and coach.
Through my fitness programs, I specialize in empowering career-driven women who are struggling with self-doubt or feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands. My services include personal/group training (both in-person and online), customized workout plans, and group programs that focus on mobility, strength, and confidence-building. I also offer workshops, such as handstand training, designed to help clients rediscover the joy of movement and challenge themselves in new ways.
What sets me apart is my lifestyle approach to fitness. I don’t just focus on physical strength—I incorporate mindset coaching and faith-based devotionals) because I believe fitness is as much about mental resilience as it is about physical progress. I understand how busy life can get, so I create clear, efficient plans that fit into my clients’ schedules while helping them build consistent, stress-reducing habits.
I’m proud to have created programs like EmpowerFit, which focuses on guiding women toward a sustainable and fulfilling fitness journey.
More than anything, I want people to know that my work is rooted in authenticity and connection. I’m here to inspire women to believe in their strength, take control of their health, and trust the process of transformation. My goal is to help others feel capable and confident in their own skin.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience is something I’ve had to cultivate through many of life’s transitions, and one story that stands out is the whirlwind of the past couple of years. Life has been moving fast—getting married to my husband, who moved from New Zealand to the U.S. to be with me, navigating the legal processes that came with it, and then making my first big move from Virginia to Austin, Texas. At the same time, I’ve been pouring my heart into growing my business, trying to stay true to my vision while figuring out how to make it all work.
There have been moments when it felt like everything was happening at once, and the overwhelm would creep in. With so much to manage—new responsibilities, building connections in a new city, and trying to balance life with business—it could have been easy to let things like my own health and well-being fall to the wayside. But that’s where I’ve learned the importance of consistency.
For me, health and fitness aren’t just things I do when it’s convenient—they’re my non-negotiables. They’ve become the anchor that keeps me grounded when life feels chaotic. Making time to move, eat well, and take care of my body is a decision I’ve committed to because I’ve seen firsthand how it impacts every other area of my life. It gives me the energy to tackle big tasks, the clarity to problem-solve, and the resilience to keep going, even when things feel overwhelming.
This journey has taught me that consistency is about showing up for yourself, even when it’s hard. It’s not always about perfection, but about trusting that those small, intentional actions add up. For me, focusing on my health has been the foundation that allows me to adapt to challenges, pursue my goals, and keep moving forward—even when life feels like it’s moving faster than I am.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to unlearn is that it’s okay to say no to things that aren’t fulfilling or leading me down the right path. For so long, I believed that putting others first—always saying yes, always being available—was the only way to show love, loyalty, and care. But over time, I started to realize that constantly putting myself last wasn’t sustainable.
I had to confront the hard truth: I can’t pour from an empty cup. If I wanted to show up for others fully—my husband, my clients, my community—I had to prioritize taking care of myself. That meant learning to say no, setting boundaries, and making decisions that aligned with my values and long-term goals.
