We were lucky to catch up with Sara Drehobl recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sara thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
There are a lot of mixed schools of thought on what an “industry standard” is in real estate. I think what makes me stand out from other Agents is my ability to connect with people at a heart level and really understand what they are trying to accomplish. There are times I will receive a call about a divorce before the other member of the marriage even knows, there have been births, deaths and everything in between. What makes me different and stand out is I handle each situation uniquely to what that particular Client needs. I want them to know they are loved and supported and that the decisions they are making are their own and not led by my desires or greed. I often tell folks I should probably have more boundaries with Clients but truth is, this is often time the biggest decision they’ve ever made and I want them to know I have their back 24-7-365.



Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Sara Drehobl and I am YOUR UNICORN OF REAL ESTATE! I am knee deep into my eighth year as a full time agent and have loved building this business from the ground up! Born and raised in Texas, driving the backroads to find properties for my Buyers is quite literally one of my favorite past times. When I got licensed I was looking for a job that would provide me more flexibility to spend time with my only son Hudson. What I got was a career that has changed every single aspect of my life. Just a few months into getting licensed I also quit drinking which had such huge ripple effects on my self esteem and confidence. I would spend hours listening to Earl Nightingale’s Strangest Secret, Les Brown and Wayne Dyer reprogramming my brain to become a salesperson. I was convinced with enough hard work and dedication my efforts would be rewarded, and they have, beyond my wildest dreams. There is just something so symbiotic about helping Clients achieve their housing dreams while they are helping me grow and build out dreams of mine I never thought would happen. My Clients know without a shadow of a doubt they can trust me because I have skin in the game too and we work as a team. This mentality has helped me shift to an all referral based business that continues to bless me and that I am eternally grateful for. From start to finish I show up for my people and they know they can count on me even when things get tough!



Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I have worked hard to build a solid reputation not only with my Clients but also with my Vendors and other Agents in and out of my market. If I had to say the easiest way to build and maintain lasting relationships it is simple – honesty and authenticity. What you see is truly what you get with me and I think that is comforting for people to know they aren’t going to be in an uncomfortable situation alone. I don’t pretend to be something I’m not and I tell all my Clients that I will never BS them, if I don’t know the answer, I will find someone who does!


Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Life is strange the way it works out but years ago I was a manager at Uncle Julio’s and I just built solid relationships there with the folks I worked with, because of that I have had the opportunity to work with many of my former coworkers and their families over the years. A very close second would have to be the business I receive from the sweet girls I grew up cheerleading with in Mansfield and their families. Both of those have been such huge blessings in my business and life in general. It is a lesson I try and teach my son, always be kind because you really never know who may be the key to unlocking your next chapter and step on your journey!
