We recently connected with Sandy Weberman and have shared our conversation below.
Sandy, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
In 2023, I faced a crossroads. My design business wasn’t bringing in enough clients, and with three kids in private school, the financial pressure was intense. I had a safe option – a position as a teacher’s assistant at my kids’ school that would help cover tuition. The responsible choice seemed clear.
But something didn’t feel right.
When I asked my husband for advice, he didn’t give me a yes or no. Instead, he said he believed in my abilities and would support whatever I decided. We made a deal – I’d give my business one more year. If I couldn’t match what I’d earn as a teacher’s assistant, I’d switch careers.
This was terrifying. With ADHD and anxiety, I thrive on structure. Choosing uncertainty over stability felt like jumping without a safety net. But I knew I had to try.
I changed everything about how I worked. Instead of doing it all solo, I started networking and connecting with other professionals. I joined a Jewish women’s entrepreneur group. Most importantly, I shifted from being just a freelance designer to running an agency.
The key was focusing on what I do best – brand identity design – while partnering with experts in web development, social media, and copywriting. This let me offer clients complete solutions without stretching myself too thin.
Today, Sandy Creative Studio is thriving. We help businesses build strong brands and digital presence, with a hand-picked team of experts for each project. I handle the creative direction and client relationships, ensuring everything meets our high standards.
Sometimes the biggest risk is betting on yourself. For me, turning down that teaching assistant job meant choosing growth over comfort. It meant trusting my abilities even when self-doubt crept in.
That one year of “all in” changed everything. Not just financially, but in how I see myself as a business owner and creative director. Sometimes what looks like the responsible choice isn’t the right one. Sometimes you have to trust your gut, even when it’s scary.

Sandy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Sandy, the founder of Sandy Creative Studio, a full-service branding and design agency. My journey started in Long Island, NY, where I was that artistic kid who found solace in creative pursuits – from playing trumpet in the orchestra to winning art awards and directing school videos. Those early experiences shaped my path to becoming a graphic designer.
After college, I started freelancing while being a stay-at-home mom in Miami Beach. When COVID hit, we moved to Hollywood, Florida, and everything changed. That’s when I discovered I had ADHD – a revelation that helped me understand my struggles and strengths better.
In 2023, I transformed my freelance business into Sandy Creative Studio. Instead of trying to do everything myself, I now work with a hand-picked team of experts to provide comprehensive branding solutions. We’re a one-stop shop for businesses who want to stand out – offering brand strategy, logo design, web development, social media management, and more.
What sets us apart? We’re not just service providers – we’re partners in your success. I personally oversee every project, ensuring it meets our high standards while making the process smooth and stress-free. No cookie-cutter solutions here – each brand strategy is tailored to your specific needs and goals.
I’m most proud of the personal attention and care we give to every client. Having struggled with my own business growth, I understand how overwhelming it can be to start or rebrand a business. That’s why I guide clients through every step, making sure they feel confident and supported throughout the process.
Beyond Sandy Creative Studio, I run “Kosher Chaos,” a platform where I share my experiences as a neurodivergent Orthodox Jewish entrepreneur. It started with one viral TikTok video and grew into a community where people feel seen and understood.
What I want potential clients to know: When you work with Sandy Creative Studio, you’re getting more than just design services – you’re getting a partner who genuinely cares about your business’s success. We create brands that not only look good but work effectively to help you grow. Whether you’re just starting out or ready for a refresh, we’re here to help you stand out in your market with authenticity and impact.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Personal connections have consistently been my strongest source of clients – both through direct referrals and face-to-face networking. There’s something powerful about having mutual connections or shared communities that builds instant trust.
Joining the Jewish Women Entrepreneur (JWE) group was a game-changer. It provided not just clients, but also a network of vendors I now collaborate with. This community connection has been invaluable for business growth.
While I still focus on building relationships in person, I’m expanding into social media with the same personal approach. My strategy is sharing authentic content that helps people feel like they know me before we even meet. Early results show this creates similar trust levels to in-person connections.
The key isn’t just finding clients – it’s building relationships where people feel comfortable recommending you to others. Whether it’s through community groups, personal networks, or social media, that authentic connection makes all the difference.

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
Yes, I’ve developed supplemental revenue streams to complement my main business. My creative work is available on various products through my Etsy shop – from apparel to holiday cards and wall art. I use a print-on-demand service connected to my Etsy account, which handles production and shipping. While setting up the designs took significant time initially, it now generates passive income.
Looking ahead, I’m developing design templates for platforms like Canva. These will help non-designers easily create professional-looking materials for their businesses – another potential source of passive income.
