Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sandra Hodet. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Is there a historical figure you look up to? Who are they and what lessons or values have you learned from them?
It all starts with my parents who are role models for me. They had different businesses when I was young. Unfortunately the last one turned out to be quite a challenge because they lost everything! But it taught me to overcome so many challenges! They taught me trought this to persevere, to work, to be humble and so many other things!I didn’t want to be my own boss because I was afraid of loosing everything while thez worked so hard but my husband wanted to have his own bakery and it’s normal for me to support him as he supported me throughout my nursing career.
My husband is persevering and hardworking and I wanted to follow hin in this new adventure when he suggested I come and settle in Florida!
My past finally caught up with me and together we work hard so that our bakery grows with us.My parents are my heroes and my husband is a lot like them!

Sandra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are a French bakery/patisserie! My husband is a chef baker. He tries to offer a good range of French (Europeann) products.
He uses flours and butter from Europe. It’s not that he wouldn’t like to work with American suppliers, it’s that for the moment he can’t find what he’s looking for!
The most important thing for us is that customers feel like in France when they taste our croissants, chocolate croissants, our breads, our baguette or even our pastries.
We are so glad and grateful to our customers are curious to discover our products and our culture! That’s the most important thing for us!
We share so many good times with them, it’s wonderful.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
We sold our house in Quebec to be able to buy our bakery via E2 visa. I think we like challenges :-). After leaving France for Quebec, we left Quebec for the USA!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We are lucky to have wonderful customers who advertise to us with their friends/family/work.
We are in a wonderful plaza where the other merchants are mutually advertising! Many customers advise us on marketing because we don’t know that.
