Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sage. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sage, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
When I was a child, my mom would sit all five us of kids in her room and we would listen to all different genres of music. At that time, music grew on me. I was young but realized at the early age of eight years old that I enjoyed music and singing as well. I would sing to all the female artist and year after year I knew my voice was a gift to me from God. In high school I was picked out of my choir class by my teacher because of my voice to sing in the opera play “The Magic Flute”. This was super exciting for me. At this point, I learned to keep my voice sharp by continuing to do vocal exercises. The skills most essential to keeping your voice sharp and tuned is “vocal exercises”. I think 3 times a week is good to warm up your voice. My mother struggled to take care of all five of us after her divorce from my dad. I would have to say this was a huge obstacle with regards to learning more. We move around a lot as a child because of the divorce. However, my mother always showed me love, and that she cared for me.

Sage, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into the industry later in life because I wanted to raise my child. As a single mother that was challenging, so I put my singing career on hold. I recorded music but knew later on that I needed someone to help me. That is when I found CSP Music group in the year 2020. I have been working with them for the past five years. What sets me apart from others is my energy. I bring raw, pure and honest energy to the game. I want followers/fans and perspective music labels to know that I am a great singer, hard-working and dedicated to my craft. I just need a platform and supporters/sponsors. I am most proud that I actually have music that was release October 2023 on all major platforms. I really would like to attain more support and be able to perform at various venues (whether small or medium). Large venues will happen over time once my brand is established.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, my goal is to make my dreams a reality. I want to perform at small/medium size venues and make people feel good. Eventually, I would love to be an opening act for a popular solo artist or band.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I had my daughter, I had to put my modeling career on hold. My first priority was my daughter and I wanted to raise her. If I would have become a model and traveled that would have not been the case. I am glad I sacrificed my modeling career to raise my daughter. I would not have wanted it any other way. Also, in 2006 I lost my mother. This was the worst time of my life. I was in college working on my first degree in Paralegal studies. When my mom passed, I took six months off from college to heal from how devasted and quickly my life changed. My mom was my best friend and she taught me everything I know. My dad also taught me a lot and he lives in Omaha.
