We were lucky to catch up with Ryan Chisesi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Starting my own business. Fully committing and leaving the “security” I had prior and going all in on my skill sets was a huge risk. But I would choose it again every time.
You learn so much from running your own business. More specifically you learn more about yourself than just business.
Running a business forces you to take action, take responsibility, believe when others don’t and take responsibility when you could have done better. It make you appreciate everything so much more.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Ryan Chisesi and I run EditButter Studios. We specialize in video and social media marketing for professionals and brands in the beauty / healthcare industries.
I got into creating videos after getting hurt at my old job and not being sure what I could do physically to make my bills.
After surgery I studied how to film and use cameras and edit and everything I could about social media. I started filming for free and eventually worked my way up to doing commercials for big brands and tv shows as well as music videos for major label artists and more. I have projects with millions of views and helped a lot of people make a lot of money, ha-ha.
I am really proud of the work we do and the people we help bc we do things a lot differently from other companies and our success and numbers prove that. If you stay true to what you know people eventually will catch on. Don’t follow others, show them how cool your path is and give them the option to walk it with you.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Being so good that no one can deny it. If your service or product is excellent then people will in fact talk about it and you will grow naturally from there.
The marketing services we provide people is to help enhance that as they grow.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
100 Million Dollar Offer by Alex Hormozi.
I am sure everyone has heard of this book by now but there is a reason for it. It has helped me change the trajectory of my business and allowed me to help others along the way.
Create an offer so good that people feel dumb saying no, period. Again, be so good that people cannot deny you.
