We recently connected with Ryan Brockington and have shared our conversation below.
Ryan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Music has always been a constant in my life—it runs deep in my family, woven into our everyday moments long before I ever thought about it as a career. But it was around third grade when something shifted for me. I didn’t just enjoy music anymore; I recognized it. I became aware that what I felt when I sang was different. At that age, I didn’t yet have the language for “calling” or “purpose,” but I knew music wasn’t just something I did—it was something that chose me.
Over time, that awareness grew into commitment, and eventually into a professional pursuit. What began as a childhood dream became a lifelong journey—one rooted in family, faith, and the undeniable pull of creativity.

Ryan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Ryan Brockington is a Texas-born singer and songwriter who discovered his gift for music at a young age, singing at the historic St. Emmanuel Baptist Church in Denton, Texas. There, he developed a sound that’s uniquely his own—rooted in gospel but unafraid to cross genres.
Over the years, Ryan has shared the stage with artists like Israel Houghton, Nick Jonas, Mali Music, and Kirk Franklin. Known for lyrics that speak to the heart and a voice that is both authentic and distinct, his music connects with listeners immediately.
With the release of his new EP, ADD YOUR THOUGHTS, on March 6th, Ryan delivers a project full of raw emotion, melodic depth, and storytelling—offering music that’s personal, universal, and unmistakably his.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my view, the best way society can support artists and creatives is by showing up—literally and figuratively. Go to local shows, visit bookstores, galleries, and record shops. Support real artistic expression wherever it exists. Artists need your presence, your attention, and your encouragement. Every bit of support helps keep the creative ecosystem alive and thriving—we need you.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to share real and authentic experiences through music, offering my unfiltered perspective on life, God, love, and relationships. I want my music to resonate, connect, and reflect the truths we all live, even when they’re messy or complicated.
