Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ryan Batey. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ryan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
When we initially started in 2018 we only had 7 girls in our Be The Best You sports program. Through tireless efforts and dedication our program grew from 7 girls to 50 within a year. In our 2nd year of operation we had over 100 young ladies and then Covid hit but what we realized was that our girls and our families needed us even more so we sustained our sports program throughout the pandemic to keep supporting our families. While doing so we found out that even adults needed our help so I am beyond grateful for such an amazing team that allowed us to create programs to help adults in times of need and to also teach people from teens to adults the importance of financial literacy. Our journey has not been easy but it has been so fulfilling and well worth it.

Ryan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Family Is Everything Outreach Is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the community in middle TN since 2018. We have our sports program “Be The Best You” where we teach young ladies life lessons through the game of Basketball. We have from Kindergarten through 11th grade. We also have our community outreach program “We Are The Community” where we have “Project Reclamation” that focuses on helping adult’s dealing with drug addiction, depression or hard times get their lives back on track and we have “The Difference” where we teach teens and young adults the difference between being an employee and an employer so that they can figure out the best path for them to take. Lastly we have our “Classic Men Youth Foundation” which is our mentorship program that includes youth boxing

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped us build our reputation in our market was the fact that everything would do is focused around the betterment of families. We strive to keep a family atmosphere around everything we do and we put our heart into every program we offer. Everyone that has come in contact with us lauds the loving family environment that we provide.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
It is important to put a strong emphasis on social media marketing. In the business world you have to be consistent and persistent, so that meant for us was to stay in our audience’s face on a regular basis. Our mindset has always been to never assume that people know who we are and know what we do instead treat every day as if we have to not only introduce potential clients to what we have to offer but also remind previous and current clients what we have provided. My biggest piece of advice would be to hire a social media marketing team so that you have time to focus on the other parts of running your business.
