We were lucky to catch up with Ryan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ryan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
one thing I am truly grateful for was having parents who were open to communication and really let me try things. Whether it was skateboarding, or music, my parents really let me try things.
Sure there was some push back at the beginning, but once they recognized these things were how I wanted to express myself, they were all in

Ryan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started writing young, like elementary school young. I was pretty quiet as a kid and it made things easier to say, without “saying” anything
I put out my first song in 2018 I believe. I really didn’t know what I was doing but having a lot of friends already in that space made things smooth.
fast forward 8 years later (crazy) here we are!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was never comfortable enough to be in front of a camera and I don’t think that will ever change but when people connect with what i’m saying on the record-in their own way, is such a crazy feeling. Sometimes it feels like no experience is original.
I write from somewhere deep down and learning that some people align with the chaos really is the push to keep moving

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I lost my mom October 5th 2024.
It’s such a weird, numbing feeling. It’s something you cant describe cause every word falls short.
Anger. Grief. Relief.
Nothing prepared me for it. I canceled shows. Stopped writing for about year.
It just didn’t feel fair I couldn’t show her what I was working on.
She was always the first to tell me what she thought.
Its been about a year and a half. It feels different now. Stronger. Writing feels like we’re writing together. Listening feels like we’re listening together.
I’ll never understand. But I cant stop
