We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful ROSS VERITY. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with ROSS below.
ROSS , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
“Ross” is a childhood nickname of mines. It is also my last name, so growing up everyone called me “Ross”. So it kind of just stuck with me as I grew into adulthood. How “Verity” became apart of my name; it plays a major part of how I live my life. “Verity” means a true principle or belief; especially one of fundamental importance. So I try to be very honest & transparent when it comes to doing business/coaching. That’s how I came up with “Ross Verity” as a firm.

ROSS , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Christopher Ross; I’m a 32 year old entrepreneur, father, son, & family man. Born & raised in Castle Point MO (Saint Louis). After graduating high school, I entered into the construction field. In 2010 (20yrs old) I took my first leap into entrepreneurship, & failed horribly. I took a step back, & became a construction estimator to gain more experience in the construction industry. In 2015 I started my 2nd firm which I still currently own, & operate today. In 2016 I purchased my first property, occupied it for a few years, then turned it into a rental property. That’s how I unconsiously entered into the world of real-estate. In 2019 my family, & I relocated to Atlanta, Ga for opportunities in a larger real-estate market. That same year I started a short-term rental business in Atlanta, which currently I have multiple properties under management! As I gained more knowledge, & experience fast forward to 2022 I now have multiple rental properties, real-estate flips, short-term rentals, & commercial construction projects. With all this experience underneth my belt; I decided to give value to people by offering coaching, mentorships, & step by step guides of getting into these businesses. Ross Verity offers 1 on 1’s, credit education, onsite real-estate mentorships, commercial construction business start ups, & how to obtain personal/business funding. Most of my clients/mentees think that you need a bunch of money to get started in a real-estate or a business; which is partially true. Though you may need capital to get to started; it doesn’t necessarly have to be “your” capital. I show my mentees how to use “OPM” (others people’s money) to buy real-state, short-term rentals, & to create cash flowing businesses. These wealth building techniques can be credit cards, line of credit, or private capital. I’m most proud of my family; building a legacy that my children can follow to continue what I’ve built. My goal is to show people that there are so many creative ways to get in these industries; having the right information is key. I give multiple strategies of how to enter; & thrive in real-estate.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had a big misconception about capital, & how money works. I always thought that since I wasn’t born rich or with a lot of money that it’ll be nearly impossible to access it. Once I learned that investors, banks, & private funds look for places to deploy their capital for a return; my life changed. The world runs off debt, someone has to owe someone to make this economy work. So as long as I have a deal; access to funding will never be a problem. It’s harder now to find a deal than to find capital. So technically I can fund a deal using someone else’s money OPM (others people’s money). That my niche. Also learning that as long as I can solve a problem for someone else; I will never have a money issue. People will pay you to solve their problems. The people I associate with need a return on their capital; so I use their capital to fund my personal deals. It’s a win win situation for all parties involved. I teach multiple techniques to my mentees of how to access funding for their deals.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
With my commercial construction company, short-term rental business real-estate firm, & even my coaching firm was founded using credit. Any business or project I’ve ever started, I used personal/business credit to fund that specific project. I may of not had a lot of capital to start with, but with a great credit profile I was able to access around 50K of funding. Your credit is the foundation to your business. I made sure I cleaned any derogatory/negative items from my credit profile to be in the position to obtain personal/business funding. Fast forward now; I can raise hundreds of thousands of dollars now through capital partners to fund new deals.
