We were lucky to catch up with Roshi Day recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Roshi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Cush Concierge is the result of wanting to create luxury experiences and resources in select industries. I believe I came full circle in the pursuit of my service career so I had to find more ways to be of service. It was time to be more focused on building in the community and creating streams of passive income so that I could be available for my family. Sometimes being a business owner you find yourself in-between a rock and hard place when its time to make that transition. Cush Concierge allowed me to create, build, and be of service. Realizing that I was building a legacy that included other people was the turning point of my decision making. It’s about more than what I gain personally and there will always be a spot for something real. Operating exclusively online with our dispensary and beauty supply store works well because we can appeal to more than one location. Even in our more physical businesses we are able to operate from remote locations. Cush Concierge allows me to tap into multiple industries and make a difference.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Roshi and by trade I am a licensed Master Cosmetologist ,Herbalist, and Artist. I started what is known as The Pretty Hustler about 15 years ago; which at the time was more beauty focused. Education wise I have a degree in Management and that has led me to be pursued in opening a lot of businesses. Some I personally operate and invest in while others I just create the framework for them to start or market. After years in the beauty service industry; I realized wanted to do more things and thats how Cush Concierge came to be. A lot of black businesses struggle because they don’t have the proper resources and assistance to grow; my project management services allow them to build and market legitimate businesses. A lot of consumers struggle with finding reliable cannabis and beauty supply products; we make sure they have a retail source they can count on. Being in the service industry prepared me for understanding the experience is what people remember. How I made them feel and can they trust me were big factors that I wanted to hang onto in whatever I pursued. I’m most proud of the tribe that I am building that is creating resources, jobs, art, and a safe space. I am passionate about creating and building things that people can trust to be real. I’m a Renaissance woman if you will. Cush Concierge LLC is the parent company to Cush Dispensary, Cush Beauty Supply, The Nile Logistics, and Craig’s Concrete & Asphalt.

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
Yes, we operate and own four different businesses under Cush Concierge LLC. There’s an online dispensary, an online beauty supply store, a concrete contractor company, and a logistics company. As our family and tribe grows we intend on adding more businesses that we are passionate about.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
You can not do everything by yourself. I realize that I have certain skills and limitations that make me who I am professionally. I had to lean into delegation and trusting the process so that we could grow.
