We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Romina Nabhen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Romina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?
We live in a digital world and social media has become a must in most successful business marketing practices. I was one of the 1st influencers in Miami when the cusp of Instagram was just starting. I used the Instagram platform to showcase all my work and unfortunately, I was the victim of hacking. This has happened to me six times already and every time, I rise up from the ashes, dust myself off and open up another page. I learned my lesson and recently opened a webpage and linked it to my former blog where my content can live protected forever. I would suggest to anyone that relies solely on social media for marketing & promotions to seriously consider backing up their content in a protected space.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve been working in the luxury industry for over 25 + years and have been recognized in the media as a fashion, beauty & lifestyle expert. I’m excited that I get the opportunity to work with so many interesting people and organizations. My goal is to use all my years of experience and skills to help my clients attain their best version and/or business goals.
The curation aspect of my business was born out of one of my passions, which is jewelry design. I did not become a jewelry designer however, I sell curated fine jewelry, watches & accessories. The type of pieces you would find at premium department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and other top retailers. I work with a plethora of wholesalers, manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, and a few estate attorneys in order to bring my clients the very best pieces with a white glove concierge level of service making their shopping experience a breeze.
The other part of my business is Luxury Industry Consulting which includes my other passions: fashion, interior design and beauty. I’m fortunate enough to provide services to companies, individuals and organizations within or looking to work in the luxury industry. Or, simply to individuals who want to present themselves as their best version.
My services include but are not limited to style advisory, media training, trend forecasting, research, brand strategy, marketing strategy, business development, advertising strategy, public relations strategy and personal branding. Each customer experience is unique to their business needs.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I work in the world of luxury which is a niche market. I can spend thousands of dollars on marketing and advertising, but the most successful public relations effort for my business has been word of mouth. My business is built on a foundation of trust and this has gotten me to where I am today. I have loyal clients that I’ve been doing business with for over 20 years.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My reputation has slowly been built throughout the years.
I began my career as a model and ventured on a path that eventually distinguished me with a position as Fashion Director for Saks Fifth Avenue where I oversaw all PR, Special Events, Trend Presentations and Fashion Show productions.
I also held executive level positions with luxury leaders such as Fendi Casa and Condé Nast Americas where I directed and managed several large-scale events. I also served as the Associate U.S. Editor for Luxe Magazine MX, Lifestyle Director for Chispa Magazine, Lifestyle Contributor for NOU & Strategic Partnerships for S Revista.
Last year, I had an exciting project in television. I was the Artistic Director & Presenter of Style & Trends for the television show, Conexion Latína which aired on HolaTV USA.
As an independent contractor, I worked with companies, as well as, brands such as TARGET, DOVE and John Frieda, to name a few. I was also one of the 1st Miami influencers with a monetized blog, My LIFE Mi VIDA which has content under the fashion, beauty & lifestyle umbrella.
I’ve been recognized by the media as a fashion, beauty & lifestyle expert in outlets such as HolaTV USA, CNN Español on shows Notimujer, Cafe CNN & CLIX, CBS’s Morning Show (Style Flash), ABC’s Morning Show, NBC/Telemundo, Univision, MEGA TV, Venevision, AmericaTV and E! Specialty segments include Yahoo en Español- Yahoo Mujer, The Amanda’s (Style Network) and Real Housewives Of Miami season 1 (BRAVO).
In addition, my fashion and beauty insights are featured in publications such as VOGUE Latin America/Mexico, People, Ocean Drive Magazine, Selecta, VENUE, Coral Living, Miami New Times, Key Biscayne Magazine, El Nuevo Herald, Haute Living, VIP Latino, TARGET (a bulls eye view) and several blogs. I have also been very fortunate to have graced the covers of Strategy Magazine & NEW YOU.
Currently, I’m the Founder & CEO of RCN Curated Luxury.
Im a graduate of Florida International University and I currently reside in Miami, FL where I have been involved in pet rescue initiatives and charities such as U.nite4:Good, Wine, Women & Shoes – Miami Children’s Hospital, Shopping Olympics – Special Olympics & Ronald McDonald House – Atlanta, GA, as well as, His House for abandoned and abused children.
