Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Richard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Richard , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Yes, In 2022, my creative works from social media began to pay off tremendously. It all started with TikTok success, and that catapulted me into every algorithm visible to those interested in my niche. As an Uber Driver, everyday I’d record 3 videos that I’d post on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube & FaceBook. The money didn’t come as fast as the recognition, but I had a deep passion for my work so it didn’t matter. The only way I could have sped up the process possibly is through influencer marketing. Content creation is unpredictable, and there are no shortcuts.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I became deeply immersed with Motivational Speaking prior to my divorce, but it was inconsistent. However, it was the day a family member joked about my inconsistency that inspired me to not miss another day. The problem I solve for clients is mindset transformation. I transition them from poverty thinking into a “Rich Mentality.” I offer self-published books, 1 on 1 sessions and merch from my digital website, richmentalityattire.com for those who are interested in supporting my business. I am most proud of accumulating over 500K followers in which I am able to serve and motivate. Obedience is better than sacrifice, and it’s truly a blessing to be able to witness it first hand.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is watching the positive reactions that the supporters show and give. It’s like baking a cake for 5-10 hours then getting praised or appreciated for your hard-work and creativity.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think that society should be less judgmental and more inquisitive to support artists. Meaning, they should ask questions, provide a safe space and be more open-minded to new perspectives. Everyone is so immersed in their own world and becomes afraid when an artist introduces them to a new world.
