We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Regi Ozah. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Regi below.
Regi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
One thing I’ve come to realize about entrepreneurship is that once you truly step into it, there’s no going back. I went to university, earned a degree, and never used it in any traditional sense. About ten years ago, at 25, I made a decision, I was done with dead-end jobs that felt like they were building someone else’s life instead of my own.
That turning point led me into the party and nightlife industry in Miami Beach, where I started in sales. I found my rhythm there. Things moved fast, the energy was real, and for the first time, my effort directly translated into results. From there, everything escalated. I eventually built my own events and party company, partnering with venues to create experiences, sell tickets, drive revenue, and help shape the popularity of the spaces we worked with.
Of course, there are moments, especially during slower periods when I think about what it might feel like to have a steady paycheck and a more predictable future. Those thoughts usually come when things are quiet, when uncertainty creeps in. But they never last long.
Because the truth is, that unpredictability is also what makes this life exciting. In business, you can be down one day and completely back up the next. There’s a pulse to it, a constant movement that keeps you sharp and alive. For me, that outweighs the comfort of stability. Becoming a Real Estate agent recently has also given me leverage in the playing field of entrepreneurship.
More than anything, I value freedom. I’m a world traveler, and I’ve built my life around that identity. A traditional 9 to 5 would make that kind of lifestyle difficult, if not impossible. Entrepreneurship gives me the ability to design my life on my own terms, even if it comes with risk. And at this point, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sales allows you to use your own self-projection to create an income. People are buying you, not the product, they say. It allows me to use my full, versatile personality to my highest and full potential. Doing business in the party and nightlife industry gives me a good feeling when I know I’m providing memorable moments for people who are visiting Miami Beach. I enjoy that. It makes me happy. Also, unilateral with real estate. Knowing that you’re involved in somebody’s biggest purchase of their lifetime, helping them understand a new area and something that’s new to them, putting their trust in your hands, it gives you a level of excitement and honor.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to unlearn in business is the idea of comfort. Early on, I thought the goal was to reach a point where things felt stable predictable income, a steady rhythm, a sense that I could finally relax. But over time, I started noticing something different in the people operating at the highest level. The most successful entrepreneurs never really “settle.” No matter how much they earn, they keep building, evolving, and moving.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I’ve always been drawn to the teachings of Marcus Aurelius and the Stoic way of life focusing on discipline, resilience, and controlling what you can while staying prepared for what you can’t. That philosophy shifted how I see business entirely.
Also, Napoleon Hill, whose writing reinforced the idea that success requires constant evolution, belief, and persistence.
