We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Randyman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Randyman below.
Randyman, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you’re open to it, can you talk to us about the best (or worst) investment you’ve made. What’s the backstory and the relevant context behind why you made the investment?
The best investment I’ve ever made was the scariest one and that was taking a chance on something I believed in which was starting a record label and signing myself. Learning to invest in my label and my craft. Anyone that is truly passionate about their craft, hobby will invest into it if they truly love it. And investing doesn’t always have to be money it can be time, energy, your mind. As a Ceo/recording artist I had to learn that the music business is a business all together. You want a major deal a big bag from the majors well they need to see that what they are investing into is going to be a good return on their end so if you aren’t investing heavily into what it is your doing then your not serious about it so why should they. You’re either going to go hard or go home. #WJMG
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I’m the Chief Executive for recording label WorldJam MusicGroup. I’m also a American rapper born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I got into the business of music from being raised into it. Music is away of life down in New Orleans and it’s has always been my outlet to communicate with the world. A few things that set me apart and also WorldJam MusicGroup is we allow artist to be whom they are we will never handicap your creativity. I’m currently working on expanding the label and looking to bring in models, music producers, engineers, videographers and public relations Managers. Slots are open for beginners to veterans.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I remember when I first started my social media. Lol man o man when I tell you I didn’t have a clue on what I was doing. I was posting pictures of all kinds of crazy stuff and barley getting 10 likes and 3 comments and 1 of those probably was a bot telling me about a proposal. Lol. It wasn’t until I studied those that gained a lot of engagement. Then I cracked the code. Post interesting things and create polls for your stories, ask questions and always make sure your hashtags make sense to the post. Never re use a lot of hashtags in post right next to one another and last make sure the clarity of what your posting in sharp.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Running Ads to find the target audience. Once you find them you’ll know where to pitch the merchandise.
