We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rachel Nelson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rachel below.
Alright, Rachel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
I scaled up by investing in my brand. The branding (or rebranding) process is where you get radically honest about who you are, what you stand for, and what makes you different. That clarity shifts everything. From there, your brand becomes an outward expression of your truth. It magnetizes the clients who are actually aligned with you, strengthens your messaging, and gives your business the direction it’s been craving. That’s how you grow, from the inside out.

Rachel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I knew at 16 that interior design was my calling, and every step of my journey shaped the drive behind Concetti. Dance and color guard taught me discipline and perseverance. Studying abroad in Italy introduced me to conceptual design and inspired the name Concetti, which means concepts.
Concetti is a design strategy studio that specializes in interiors and branding. We create bold, professional design strategies for people who want their space and brand to look, act, and feel like themselves.
I always trusted my gut, and from the moment I envisioned Concetti, I knew it would become real. With commitment to that vision, I built an award-winning team that brings intentional design to homeowners and small businesses ready to show up as their true selves.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective way to grow your clientele is by investing in your brand, which really means investing in yourself. Whether you’re just starting out or feeling stuck at your next growth edge, remember: you already have everything you need within you. Branding helps you tap into that truth. When you get crystal clear on who you are, what makes you different, and how you want to show up, you create magnetic positioning. And that clarity is what brings the right clients straight to you; the ones who feel deeply aligned with your vision, your values, and your work. Growth starts from knowing yourself first.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
At Concetti, staying connected with our clients is part of our heartbeat. Communication is not a checkbox for us. It is how we make sure you feel seen, heard, and genuinely understood. We mirror your frustrations, your hopes, and your needs back to you, because solving the right problem is the whole point of human centered design.
We send meeting confirmations at the start of the week and monthly recaps with a clear plan for what is ahead. When communication is transparent early and often, our clients feel supported every step of the way. That support builds trust, and that trust becomes loyalty.
