Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rachel Green. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rachel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I’d hope that when I’m gone, people see past my business for who I am. I feel like clients become friends based off of more than what you sell. You connect with them on a personal level. I believe your business thrives off of personal characteristics. I just hope at the end of the day, people would say that I helped them in some way. That I made an impact on them. I always strive to help people and that’s the most important thing to me.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started my business shortly after highschool with no prior job experience. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve stuck with it. It’s nothing for the faint of heart. I’ve doubted myself many times and if I’d grow my business. I’ve seen many small businesses come and go within a year. I’ve also seen people undercharge their worth. I offer custom products that take endless hours to create from start to finish. Just like you I want to get paid for my work and worth.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe the best way to build reputation is based off of character. Have a good heart, be genuine, and be kind and helpful even to people you don’t know. My business has also connected me to many different people, clients and just other business minded people.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Alongside my bakery I started a dog training side hustle. I was driving down the street near my house and I found two labs running loose. I pulled over to pick them up and return them to their owner. I ended up finding their home and she happened to be a service dog trainer and little by little I started shadowing her and another company. Now I’m raising a puppy to be a service dog. So I’m excited to see where the future takes me!
