We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Dinkins recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel , thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Our story behind our mission is to provide high quality products that revive healthy hair, restore moisture, and health to all hair types, ensuring the growth and quality of beautiful hair.
Having majored in Fashion Marketing and Management, I had a passion for the beauty & fashion industry. This led me to research the hair care industry, which is an $87 billion industry. Growing up I dealt with eczema and having an extremely dry flaky scalp. My hair texture was thick and coarse. Most products couldn’t really control the frizz, dryness and flakiness all in one simple hair care system. So I decided to research and find the right ingredients to formulate one hair care system that not only worked well with color treated hair, but was also organic and vegan friendly. During the Covid-19 pandemic I decided it was time to fully invest into starting this company and the rest is history.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I decided to jump in the Hair Care industry because growing up it was hard for me to find a hair care product and/or system that targeted my issues and worked for my hair type. I dealt with Eczema on my scalp and didn’t want all those chemicals in my hair. After years of trying out different products I decided it was time to make a change and start my natural hair care journey. I trained my hair using deep conditioning treatments, hydration treatments, and trims then I started to see a difference in the quality of my hair. People would always compliment my hair throughout my natural hair journey and wanted to know what my secret was. Now, I am happy to finally share that secret!
RACHEL INDIRA Hair Care sets itself apart from other hair care brands. I spent many years searching for the perfect hair care line that gives all hair types unique strength, glow and shine. Not only are we delivering results of healthy hair but we incorporate high quality ingredients that are free from Sulfates, Parabens, PEGs, Dyes, and Mineral Oils. We are vegan-friendly and animal cruelty-free. Rachel has worked closely to create the perfect formula for healthy hair. With Rachel’s results and expertise, the desire for RACHEL INDIRA hair care line is why we want to stay ahead of our competition. Many friends and customers want the same results that we have discovered as well as a clean Hair Care Brand.
Our exciting success would be again selling out of our products within 48 hours! I had no idea my very first launch would turn out to be a tremendous success especially during these unprecedented times. However, we have been receiving so much love and support from other companies who are featuring us and also marketing us on their platforms. It has truly been a blessing to have this exposure. We are grateful for all of our customers as well as the features from other brands that are reaching out and speaking highly of our products. Receiving 5-star reviews on our products and selling out of all products now has truly been a humbling moment and we will continue serving and making our clients a top priority.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Our vision for the brand is to keep elevating and evolving. And brand loyalty is our number one focus right now. Our foundation is our online community and our customers who love the easy access of logging onto a computer and ordering directly from us. Because of that we have rolled out a great loyalty rewards program to our loyal shoppers. Our Loyalty circle program consist of earning points for every order you place with us. You can redeem the points you’ve earned to get discounts for anything on the menu. When you sign up, you’ll receive extra points as a welcome gift. I love to see clients enjoy using our products! Many of our clients say that the products work for their hair type and have noticed a difference in the texture and overall feeling that our products significantly improved their hair. I also enjoy reading the reviews and seeing the clients’ results, which inspires me each day.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele is building trust and giving back to our audience. We also like to stay in communication with our customers which helps build trust. I learned early on to have passion in your endeavor . Success will come but it requires a lot of hard work, drive and sleepless nights. It is bigger than someone who solely is tarting a company out of just wanting to make money. You need to be able to have passion so you can be impactful to your audience. And this will help you succeed and withstand any obstacle. Which in so many ways has led our brand to be effective for growing our clientele.
