We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Project H.E.L.P. ATL . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Project H.E.L.P. below.
Project H.E.L.P. , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the most important things small businesses can do, in our view, is to serve underserved communities that are ignored by giant corporations who often are just creating mass-market, one-size-fits-all solutions. Talk to us about how you serve an underserved community.
Project H.E.L.P. Atlanta is a hands-on servicing experience dedicated to providing nourishment, provisional resources, and living necessities for underserved communities, the less fortunate, and those in need. We are a fun, collaborative effort of dedicated volunteers committed to spreading kindness. We take our convictions and turn them into action. We believe that small actions can provide big results. We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Project H.E.L.P. Atlanta is one of three chapters; with San Antonio and Houston being the others. Project H.E.L.P.’s mission is to inspire local and national movements to make a difference and turn humanity into action by helping those in need. Focusing on empowering volunteers to take a more active role in engaging in their communities while having fun doing it. “H.E.L.P.” stands for Humanity Evolves from Loving People.
Project H.E.L.P. Atlanta started in 2020 and since served the community with love and resources. Since being established, we have been blessed to have served over 3000 people! In 2022, our strongest year thus far, we donated 500 books to the City of Refuge and provided over 100+ health screenings. We provided countless meals throughout the year and assisted with over 50 haircuts that were provided to the homeless and underserved communities. We also donated clothes, shoes, bedding, socks, gloves, hats, and scarves and connected with over 120 volunteers, and partnered with over 25 different companies.
In our second year of operation, Fulton County, Georgia, proclaimed June 18th as Project H.E.L.P. Atlanta Appreciation Day. We were given this honor at our annual Juneteenth Celebration where we serve a large number of individuals who suffer from homelessness or are in underserved communities.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Being that we are all volunteers, no one is forced to be anywhere they don’t want. We all do this from the kindness of our hearts and want to be sure that we put our best foot forward when the time comes to serve. We have bi-weekly meetings virtually and in person to not only talk about what’s upcoming but to do check-ins. Your team is only as strong as you. We have to be there to support one another, in whatever that may be, just as we are there to support those in need, Our team is full of high-spirited individuals. We get together for team building and give “kudos” to those who work hard.
It’s not about managing, but empowering those who serve next to you. Putting them in a position to lead the pack from time to time. We all have our strong suits and it’s about exploring those talents and utilizing them when we need them most.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
We are still building that audience. We can’t really give any advice outside of staying visible and consistent. The people we serve 9 times out of 10 aren’t on social media. Those who look to be community partners and volunteers are who we look to connect with for resources to provide to those we serve. We love sharing on social media about the work we have accomplished. It allows our organization to get the love we’re giving,
