We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Peter a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Peter thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Having a skillset is what separates me from the others. Most content creators are just shmucks with an iPhone. Everyone can use their camera and do a green screen. That’s not special. Sure, there is a time and place for using green screen content, some of it works really well but that does not make you valuable. Learning how to do graphic design, being highly skilled at video editing, being able to take a project from step 1 to the finish line, that’s what makes you valuable to brands and companies and that is what I do. You also can’t teach a creative eye, you either have it or you don’t.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started my brand in 2020 like a lot of people during Covid. I’ve been making videos my entire life, from ding dong ditch videos in 5th grade to my high school television show. What I have been hired for and what I’m very good at is social media. First, branding. I’ve been hired by large sports media companies to help brand their social media pages from color scheme, font, aesthetic and messaging. I also was hired by those same companies to make content. There are a lot of factors that go into making good content, I’m not going to say all of them here but if you visit my page (@SheffieldShuffler), you will see a myriad of different content. Understanding how social media works is vital to becoming successful. Nobody taught me any of this, it was something I had to learn for myself over the past almost 5 years. I’m most proud of my storytelling content. It’s shot in 4k, high quality video, usually talking about baseball, my biggest passion. I’m thankful to have worked the All-Star game at Dodger Stadium, the Super Bowl in Vegas and the countless athlete’s I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing. The main thing I want potential clients to know is if you are serious about social media growth, if you are in need of someone who understands social media and want your message to be heard to your target audience, I am your guy.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
When my videos get seen by hundreds of thousands of people, sometimes millions, I know I created something that resonates with people, something that is relatable. The internet makes the world so small so when an athlete comments or likes one of my posts, that is always something I appreciate.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I didn’t quit. Bottom line. Most people talk about what they are going to do and never do it, some people start to do it and then stop when it gets hard. If you don’t stop, you can’t lose. You also need to have a talent, being funny, creative, etc. My advice is honestly, not everyone should do social media. There is so much garbage out there and they wonder why they don’t have a following. Develop a skillset, get great at doing it and continue to get better. Put some effort into your content, what is your message, what does your brand stand for, who is your audience? These are questions you need to have answered otherwise you are just throwing stuff at a wall and seeing what sticks.
