Hi Peter & Lucy, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Sometimes I would like the story of my mission to be more commercial, but in this case it is not. The truth is that before everything made sense to me I just wanted to take different photos. That’s all. One day in a photo reveal I will prepare the slideshow to present the photos to the client, there are two more girls and the client. They all began to scream with emotion when they saw the photos and she began to cry, gave me a hug and said thank you. At that moment everything was transformed and changed. You can feel her appreciation and the way we impacted her life. I no longer wanted to take different photos. I wanted to impact their lives and that each one felt like that first client.

Peter & Lucy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

We are Peter and Lucy from Boudoir Art by Peter. We started our business two years ago. I always liked photography but I had this idea that it was just a hobby and I didn’t see it as something to be a professional. When we arrived in the United States after Hurricane Maria, I finally told myself that I wanted to live from what I am passionate about, so while we lived in a hotel I decided to study photography, I graduated and today, 5 years later, we finally have our boudoir photography business. Boudoir photography is a type of intimate and sensual photography where we help our clients to reconnect with their sensuality, or perhaps they want to capture a moment in which they feel beautiful or in some cases they also do it as a gift to their partner. Our girls are modern women, who seek to celebrate themselves and do not seek anyone’s approval to do so. They are girls who more than price look for quality and a good experience. We have also done work for some brands, although our client is regularly the day-to-day woman. The Boudoir Art by Peter experience begins with a free consultation so that they can decide without any pressure if they feel comfortable with us being the photographer for such important photos. We include makeup, hairstyle and your cravings. We also help them choose their costumes and help and direct them with their poses. They do not need to know how to pose, we take care of that. And we turn a everyday woman into an unforgettable woman forever. Our experience also includes photo reveal. It is when the girls will see their photos for the first time in a slideshow with music. This is our favorite moment by far. And there is no way to explain what they feel at that moment. But on our website we have a video of one to give you an idea. Although of course you only live and feel it if they are your own photos. We have a studio at home so the experience is much more comfortable. In addition, they do not have to complicate themselves with parking because being a studio at home we have a reserved parking lot for them. As the name says, we take Boudoir photographs and within the Boudoir there are several levels, there is the glamor that is a little more conservative, the erotic that is a little more risqué, and the boudoir itself, which is right in between and is more the level we are looking for in our photos. We also do maternity photos and soon we will be doing couple photos. We are a brand that works with women with all body types. We think that every woman is beautiful and if they don’t feel that way, we are here to help them see it. All of our clients are women and more than 65% of our followers are too. That lets us know that our product is for them. It is very nice to work with them, and we create a very close relationship with them. We know your stories, and we value the trust you have in us. We sacredly care for their privacy and they know that with us they can be themselves in a welcoming and safe environment. That’s us. We love to celebrate them and I believe that what we are doing is much more than sensual photography. have we seen their reactions, their tears and cries of emotion when they say that’s me? And that is priceless.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Being creative can give you many rewards that can change depending on what you are creating at the time. For me right now it’s the reaction of my girls after seeing their photos. That reaction lets me know we’re doing something magical for them. My creations have made them see how beautiful they are, they have given them strength in difficult times, it raises their self-esteem and reminds them every day that they are incredible women. What greater reward than seeing someone feel happy because your creations do all that for them

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

My entire reputation rests on respect. In taking care of the trust that our beauties place in me. A few days ago I was talking to one of our beauties, she was telling me why she decided to take photos with me and she told me… “when I’m working with you I see that with the respect you treat us, the respect with which you speak to us, when you look at us I see respect in your eyes and even after the photos you continue to treat us and speak with the same respect that you do during the session. I referred my friends to you and they felt the same. It is so much so that I could not do the photo session with another photographer that is not you. So I think the answer to this question was given by her. My reputation is based on respect, they in me have a safe and professional place for their Boudoir photo session, the photos are not for me the photos are for them and that reputation is only built over time without failing them even once.
