We recently connected with Patrick Walker and have shared our conversation below.

Patrick, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

That’s a great question. I hope to be remembered as someone who worked tirelessly for the people. Be it for the homeless, to the ones dealing with any sort of mental illness. From the starving independent artist to the young fashion designer looking for that big break and just needed a little exposure. I want them to be able to say, “Pat Boom gave me a chance”. Through Pat Boom’s organization, 360 Housing Stability, I was able to get off the streets”. That is very important to me. Knowing that I was able to make a positive change in someone’s life.

Patrick, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am Patrick Walker, aka DJ Pat Boom. I am the CEO of Boomzbeatz Multimedia. We operate a 24 hour worldwide TV app on Roku and Amazon Firestick, called The Boom Boom Room also known as BBR-TV. Designed to mimic an early MTV & B.E.T, we showcase mainly independent artist in a TV Network format. We are currently installed in close to 10,000 homes and growing. Our shows include 1on1 wit Posh, Real Talk with Mz TML, DJ Booms Top 10 Countdown, Southern Soul Vibes, and Twerkzone. In addition to the channel, we also publish a digital magazine, “Street Noize”. This monthly magazine showcases independent artists, fashion designers, small business, and people of interest.
Under the same umbrella, is BBR-Radio, which is primarily 24-hour mixes. Currently under reconstruction, set to relaunch June 1st, 2024.
Also, we have Rachen Gillen Photography, which does fashion photography, music videos, commercials, special events, etc. Finally, my DJ services complete what makes up Boomzbeatz Multimedia ensemble.
I am most proud of the Roku channel, and I can’t wait to see how far it grows.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

The earlier days were quite rough. I had no idea what I was doing., I didn’t go to school for any of this. It was all hands on, seeing what worked and what didn’t. I didn’t know anyone personally that what doing what I was trying to do, so I had no guidance. No one to ask questions. Therefore, I winged it. I started reading, I started going on you-tube and researching the industry. It was even stressful financially, as there several close calls in which it was difficult to keep the channel going. But somehow, we made a way, every time. I attribute that to God

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I think that being a DJ, and once an independent artist myself, help me tremendously with my reputation in the entertainment market. Being a DJ puts me right there with artists, club owners, etc. You can couple that with my extensive background in sales and customer service. Some say that I have the “gift of gab”. One of my very first jobs was a door-to-door salesman. I was selling a multi-purpose cleaner and cold calling in affluent communities all over the east coast for about 2 years. Looking back in hind-sight, I have to chuckle. I used to suffer from extreme stuttering in my youth!
