We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Patrick Adams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Patrick below.
Hi Patrick, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
In each of my creative ventures, there is always a meaningful purpose behind the projects that ties back to something valuable and important to me. I’ll provide a separate answer for each: Books, Music and the Podcast.
Children’s Books – The stars of my books series are my 5 children. They are my ultimate inspiration and I want them to be forever immortalized in books that may entertain children from around the world. The Amazing Lisa book series stars my 3 older children (Holly, Daniel and Jonathan) as they travel the world with a magical stuffed animal. The Rhythm’s World book series is for beginning readers and stars my two younger children (Rhythm and Lyric).
Children’s Music – The audience for my music is families. Music is my passion now, and creating songs that both kids and their parents enjoy is my mission. Once again, my 5 children are my ultimate inspiration as I write most songs through their lens or my own as their parent.
Kindie Rock Stars Podcast – I love the Children’s Music community. We are many hard working and dedicated artists making music for families, but especially children of all ages. My guests on this show are Children’s Musicians, featuring their stories and their music. It is my honor to give them a forum to share their wonderful work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Relative to many, I got a later start in life on my creative ventures. I am a Project Manager by trade, and that is a very organized and detailed profession. Once I unlocked the creative side of my brain, that skillset has served me incredibly well. I conceptualized my first children’s book, Lisa Goes to England, back in 2015. As a good Project Manager would do, I meticulously planned the steps to bring the book to life. I had a lot to learn, but I took the time and ensured I could make it happen. I chose to go the self-publishing route, and with that, Patrick Adams Books, LLC was born. Lisa Goes to England was released in 2015 and I immediately began work on the 2nd book.
I became efficient enough in creating my own books that I began a consulting aspect to my business to help other authors self-publish their books. There are many details to understand in bringing a children’s book to life, and I was able to help other authors with that process.
In 2018, I decided to have a song created to be a soundtrack to my Amazing Lisa book series. The song is called Amazing Lisa Rocks! and I worked on it with a musician named Annie Lynn. I wrote the song, and she provided the music and vocals. The whole process was extremely rewarding, and as a huge music fan, I couldn’t believe I had my own song out there in the world. In 2020, I released a second song called Rhythm’s World as a soundtrack to the Rhythm’s World book series. At that point, I started my own Record Label called Lyric Star Music to begin creating and publishing music. To date, I have released 6 albums, several singles and about 40 music videos. My wife, Jen Adams, released her first songs under Lyric Star Music and we would eventually love to expand that out to more artists looking for a chance.
In 2021, I began a podcast series called “Kindie Rock Stars”. As a part of the children’s music community, I wanted to help amplify voices of these talented artists. Each show features a song, album, video or live performance. I am wrapping up Season 4 this month and there are about 300 episodes published.
Patrick Adams Books, LLC was changed to Patrick Adams Books & Music, LLC to better reflect its evolution. It is, and will continue to be, a multimedia company looking for a chance to spread a fun and positive message for families.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding this would be knowing that anyone is enjoying something that I envisioned and created, whether it’s a book, song or music video, or even a podcast episode. Receiving feedback that someone enjoyed art that came from my creative brain is absolutely amazing.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Society in and of itself is a supporter in large part of artists, be they musicians, actors, artists or any other creative outlet. One of the best examples of support has come from the artists I’ve gotten to know in New Zealand. Their government is a strong supporter of their art and they have access to many creative based grants to facilitate albums, videos and more. Many of us struggle to fund our projects, and with that kind of consistent government support generally for artists anywhere in the world, we could be even more prolific with our output.
