We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Patrice Nicole a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Patrice, appreciate you joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
I treat every client as if they are the only client I am working with. My process is never rushed and is always centered on intention and care. When a client is not fully sure of what they want, I take the time to interview them and learn about their brand, aesthetic, favorite colors, and overall vision so the final piece feels personal, thoughtful, and truly reflective of who they are.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a luxury custom sign designer who specializes in acrylic and wood pieces that elevate brands and spaces. My path into this work began organically through my love of design and creating meaningful, tangible pieces that help businesses show up with intention. What started as custom projects quickly grew into a focused practice rooted in craftsmanship, detail, and storytelling through design.
I create unique signage, branded displays, and statement pieces for entrepreneurs, creatives, and businesses who want their physical presence to reflect the same level of care and quality as their brand. Many of my clients know what they want to convey but struggle to translate that vision into something tangible. I solve that problem by slowing the process down and guiding them through thoughtful questions about their brand identity, aesthetic, and purpose so the final piece feels aligned, elevated, and personal.
What sets me apart is my boutique approach. I treat every client as my sole focus, never rushing the creative process and always designing with intention. Each piece is curated rather than mass produced, allowing the work to feel timeless instead of trendy. I am most proud of the trust my clients place in me and the way my work becomes a meaningful extension of their brand and story.
The most important thing I want people to know about my work is that it is rooted in care, quality, and collaboration. Every piece I create is designed to leave a lasting impression and to help my clients feel confident, seen, and represented through their space and branding.

Have you ever had to pivot?
My hands have always been gifted. Humbly, I haven’t met a project I couldn’t execute. With that confidence, I wanted to do everything, so I bought all the machines: five printers, a laser printer, three heat press machines, and amassed a mountain of inventory.
Over time, I realized that while I may want, can, and love to do it all, I simply cannot. Now, I focus on what I do best and only accept a select number of orders from select clients. Learning to prioritize and create intentionally has been the turning point that allowed me to grow my business without burning out.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My reputation in the market has been built on authenticity, creativity, and flawless execution. I approach every project with a clear vision and an unwavering commitment to detail, ensuring that each piece reflects intention and excellence. For my clients, working with me means experiencing a level of craftsmanship and care that feels both personal and exceptional.
