We recently connected with Page Wasti and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Page, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I am super lucky to genuinely like my sister-in-law! Our home organization business really started many years ago when we would visit each other. It always seemed like a good time to tackle a project we had been avoiding when we were together. Things always seem easier with another set of hands and encouragement, right? We were always organizing closets, cabinets, and drawers when we were together. We found ourselves moving furniture around to make a room work better or creating “zones” for things (arts & crafts corners for the kids, drop zones for shoes/coats/backpacks, or cozy reading nooks). Once she moved and we were living in the same state, we started helping friends and family who needed the same realistic solutions . Its funny because we can’t really remember the actual “let’s start a business” conversation – it just kind of happened. We work really well together and have different strengths that compliment the other. We knew it was a good idea when we were excited to start a new project. Helping other moms who struggle with the mess and chaos (just like we did) seemed like something no one else was doing.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Page Wasti and I am the owner of Array Home Organization in North Baltimore County. Array Home Organization offers home organization, home staging, and moving-in/unpacking services. We can organize every inch of your home and set up systems to make your homework for you and your specific needs. We are known for being the perfect intersection of where an interior designer meets organization. We are able to maximize the efficient use of your space in a way that adds to the beauty of your home. I am most proud of helping other moms get control of their homes and bringing peace and function to the chaos that always seem to accompany kids. We can create the Pinterest-worthy closet or pantry of your dreams, or we can use what you have and create order and function within your budget.
A little about me . . . I worked as a Personal Chef for families and professional athletes in the area for 12 years. I also became a certified health coach and started understanding how not only food but also our surroundings affect our health and happiness. When I gave birth to identical twin girls in 2017, I started to feel burned out and cut back a bit on cooking. I definitely had post-partum anxiety and honestly had a really hard time adjusting. I always say it’s pretty easy to be a mom; it’s just really hard to be a mom AND anything else (wife, sister, friend, boss, employee, etc.) I noticed how little things increased my anxiety and irritability – like chaos in the house. I found it much easier for my brain to function when things were in order. Luckily, organization had always come pretty easy to me (I had even organized several clients’ kitchens along the way to create a more functional workspace). I was able to make my life easier by creating “zones” and organization systems that were easy to maintain – even for husbands and kids;)
I realized not only did other moms need the same thing, I could help them do it. Of course, I love to organize a beautiful walk-in pantry with matching bins and containers and make a “Pinterest-worthy” space, but I also love helping moms the most. It is very fulfilling to help mom at the ends of their rope (like I was) make their homes more liveable and peaceful. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed by the stuff and mess! At Array Home Organization, we help bring order to clients’ lives and homes.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best compliment a client can give us is to refer us to their family or friends! 4 years in, and this is still the way we get the majority of our business – referrals. The home organization progress can truly be life-changing. An organized home can make your days run smoother and bring a calming peace to your home. Usually people cannot wait to tell their loved ones about the difference organization makes. Moms just want to help and support other moms and giving shout outs to local, women-owned businesses still makes a huge difference on social media. We love when clients refer us and it helps our reputation. We truly are regular moms who get the struggle of managing EVERYTHING.

Have you ever had to pivot?
My sister-in-law and I built this business together for years before she and her family had to move. We had to make a pivotal decision when she moved away – do we keep this going or do I go it alone? The fantastic thing about this job is you can truly do this anywhere. There is no shortage of people who needs help controlling the sometimes chaotic household. We decided to keep the business going and now have two locations of Array Home Organization – Baltimore, MD and Springfield, MO. We are thrilled to have a larger reach to help more people and get to continue to run our business together!
