We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Olivia Prewitt. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Olivia below.
Olivia, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I actually started as a Realtor for the Blankenship Group. While I still wear that hat as well, shortly after I started I was offered the position to be the team’s social media manager after my team lead saw what I was creating for my own platforms. This was not something that I planned for, but I have really grown to fall in love with this side of the business! Beau Blankenship and I founded a content agency, called BG Media together that is now a full in-house operation that not only provides content to our agents, but we now have clients throughout our community in all different types of industries. If you are a business owner and haven’t yet decided to invest in your social media, I’d highly recommend it!

Olivia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I took a leap of faith and moved to Florida right after graduating from the University of Kentucky, not knowing a soul! It’s a pretty wild story how I ended up with the Blankenship Group, but everything fell into place perfectly. From day one, I felt right at home. Fast forward three years, and I wouldn’t change a thing! I feel so blessed to live in my dream location and work a job I truly love. At our media company, we offer PR, social media management, videography, photography, and ad management. It’s been an amazing journey.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Over time I’ve found that relatability and desirability are two key factors. When people feel connected to you, it builds trust, and that’s so important. We always try to share authentic moments and experiences, which helps the audience see the real us or whoever is behind their brand.
As for desirability, it’s essential to clearly communicate the value of what you’re offering. Show your audience why what you do is the best—whether it’s through compelling visuals or engaging stories. Remember, people want to feel inspired and excited about what you bring to the table! For those just starting out, don’t be afraid to be yourself and let your unique voice shine through. It really makes a difference!

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I have a fun story about how I met my business partner! The summer after graduating, I took a trip down to 30A and noticed Beau’s name on nearly every real estate sign. I thought, “Wow, he must be killing it down here!” Curious about his brand, the Blankenship Group, and what Engel & Völkers offered, I decided to give them a call.
When I went in to meet with the broker, we hit it off, and she mentioned they’d love to have me at Engel & Völkers if I thought it would work for me. Naturally, I was excited! But when I inquired specifically about the Blankenship Group, I was a bit let down to hear they weren’t taking on new agents at that time.
Just after leaving, I received a phone call from Beau, who I hadn’t even met yet! He told me he trusted our broker’s opinion and was willing to take a chance on bringing me on board. I’m SO thankful for that moment—it truly changed everything for me!
