Hi Octavia, thanks for joining us today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?

It’s always nice to have the support of your family/friends. However, the goal is to grow your business with new clients. I have never felt the need to have family/friends to support me financially. The overwhelming support that I have received from them has been truly organic. I have been fortunate to have family/friends support overwhelmingly with their actions and words. They say so many encouraging things and even show up to my business events. Whenever I do Podcasts, clinics and photoshoots, I can always count on family/friends to be in the audience or assisting me with setting things up.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am Octavia Bradley and I am the owner of Unique Photography and Graphics, also known as UniquePnG. I’m native Houstonian, born and raised. I am photographer and graphic designer based in Houston, Texas. I am an alumnus of the University of Houston with a major in Graphics Design.

Photography and Graphic Design, has been a huge passion of mine for several years now. My love for graphics designing started in high school, when I created my first PowerPoint presentation about my dream vacation. I was excited to created and I felt like I was able to convey my expressions in my presentation. I received so many accolades in regards to it, I felt compelled to continue and learn more about it. Likewise, with photography, my love came when I begin to capture the emotions and special moment during our church services. It has opened so many doors and has afforded me opportunity to work with other churches, individuals, big corporations, and small companies.

Creating graphics and capturing photos started off as a hobby, but my passion has propelled it to a dream career. UniquePnG focuses on capturing unique moments with each of our clients.
I pride myself on creating a professional unique experience for each of my clients to be able to bring a little of themselves out in each project.

UniquePnG consider ourselves as a “one stop shop.” We love brining the clients vision to life through graphics for personal or business endeavors. We specialize in; branding packages that can include; logo creation, flyers, website and/or branding photoshoot. We also do personal flyers, weddings, portrait photoshoots(individual or family) and event photography for any occasion. Anything not listed, we can probably do as well. That’s what makes us UNIQUE(mic drop)!

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?

I was just getting started in business and I was trying to make a name for my business. With limited resources and limited budget, I took a leap of faith and market myself on Google. For the first couple of weeks, I receive no responses. The weight of the potential failure in marketing loomed heavy. Finally, I received a response from a Doctor(a new client) requesting my service to capture her entire family Christmas photo and her 50th birthday shoot.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

The journey started years ago, I am fortunate enough to be in this blessed place of success. The dream of becoming a professional photographer and graphics designer did not come without its far share of challenges. I paid my way through junior college and working a full time job to earn my associates degree. I continue to absorb and lean and much as I could as I enrolled in a major university to continue my training, learning and my career. There have been many financial setbacks and detours along the way, but I am glad that every adversity that I have faced was the fuel I needed to strengthen my character and resolve.
