Noah , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s go back in time a bit – can you share a story of a time when you learned an important lesson during your education?
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had a supportive upbringing in various aspects of my life. Home life was wonderful, with both my Mom and Dad caring deeply for me and wanting the best. This supportive atmosphere extended to high school, where teachers believed in me, providing opportunities for success. I learned the value of asking questions, embracing failure, and understanding that support was available if I was willing to be vulnerable. This foundation propelled me into the film industry, where, without formal education, I learned on the job. The school encouraged and supported me, offering time and resources that opened doors to opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Helping me to participate in business competitions and equipped me with skills crucial for securing my first job in the film industry.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Noah M. Dorsey, the proud owner of my film production company, RUSH. A local Okanagan boy, I grew up on a farm in Armstrong but moved to the Kelowna area nine years ago. Despite travelling the world for documentaries, commercials, and films, Kelowna is home, and my goal is to contribute to its growth, particularly in the film industry. I aspire to attract projects that put Kelowna on the map, making the film industry accessible to those interested.
This journey led me to establish RUSH locally with the ultimate goal of attracting national and global companies to the Okanagan, leveraging the incredible teams and locations available here. RUSH offers a comprehensive package, providing companies with the marketing materials they need. We collaborate closely with our clients to diagnose challenges, develop tailored strategies, and achieve desired outcomes through video and photo solutions. Our aim is to assist clients in building their brand, establishing a stronger market position, and alleviating unnecessary stress in the creative marketing process.
What I take the most pride in is the quality we consistently deliver to our clients. Not only do we produce high-quality products, but we also ensure that the experience of working with us is of the same calibre. At RUSH, we take a holistic approach to our collaborations, bringing in external perspectives to help shape our clients’ vision. Lastly, I am immensely proud of the quality of our team. We consider ourselves fortunate to be surrounded by a highly professional crew and cast that consistently delivers outstanding results. It is the combination of top-notch product quality, our meticulous process, and the exceptional people on our team that makes me proud of what RUSH can create for its clients.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Remaining true to oneself, resisting the urge to conform to societal norms, and genuinely expressing who you are can open doors to connections with like-minded individuals. The principle that people attract the energy they emit holds true in my experience. I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by a network of people who have uplifted and supported me, walking alongside me on my journey and helping me reach new heights. Their influence has been instrumental in keeping me humble, grounded in reality, and focused on what is true. Acknowledging that perfection is unattainable, I embrace the belief that learning from my mistakes contributes to an overall positive trajectory.
In direct response to your question, I attribute the building of my reputation within the community to the practice of being a genuine and kind person. The sincerity in my interactions has fostered meaningful connections and collaborations. I aspire to continue learning from my mentors, drawing insights from their experiences, and being open to constructive feedback from my peers. This commitment to growth and self-awareness is integral to maintaining a positive presence within the community. I’ll be honest as I say this it feels egotistical but I feel that this is the best answer to your question.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In 2017, a pivotal moment marked a significant turning point in my life, leading me to depart from my career in carpentry—a path for which I had invested time in school and envisioned ambitious plans. It felt like a purposeful trajectory laid out for me. However, on September 23rd, 2017, at 10:21, everything changed dramatically. I was involved in a serious car accident, rolling my car three times in a field on my way home. The impact was instantaneous, reshaping my life in ways I could never have anticipated, predicted, or planned for.
For the subsequent three months, I found myself in a neck brace, navigating a recovery journey. By the grace of God, I eventually returned to a relatively normal life, though one forever transformed. During this recovery period, I delved into my hobbies, with a particular focus on video creation. I started learning and producing without constraints. This accident set off a chain of events that introduced me to and allowed me to learn from some of the finest filmmakers in Kelowna. It also opened doors to opportunities that enabled me to travel the world, engaging in work that had always been a dream.
This experience taught me that even in challenging times, taking a simple step can position you to reconsider your life’s trajectory. It posed a question about leaving behind the familiar and embarking on a new, uncharted path.
