We recently connected with Noah Fabray and have shared our conversation below.
Noah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
As a producer, songwriter, and vocalist, it has been crucial for me to understand every part of this business.
I started in 2019 with zero idea of how difficult making music truly is. You need to figure out a beat, lyrics, vocals, and promo.
It’s a lot.
I had a team for the first couple of years, but like everything in life: we all kind of changed and had different priorities.
That left me with no producer and upcoming deadlines for new music.
I bought Logic Pro for my computer and got to work. I spent days going through each plug-in and effect and watching YouTube tutorials from other musicians.
That became my lifeline.
It’s terrifying to have someone you depend on change their ideas and workflow, leaving you to pick up the pieces.
This made me learn everything about the “back end” of making my songs.
From my song ‘Miami’ onward, I have made every beat. I spend months perfecting my songs, and I’m constantly learning and growing each time I start a session.
My advice for other artists is to take critiques. Talk to other musicians and see what they’re doing.
That can speed up your learning process.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
For those who don’t know me (hi), I’m a musician, entrepreneur, and social media persona based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.
I have released various projects throughout my somewhat brief career, ranging from R&B to Pop to Dance.
I’m a queer artist who focuses on uplifting and crediting my community through my discography.
I write my songs, make my beats, and mix/master them for streaming: I do everything on my own.
It wasn’t always like that, but I’ve come to realize my best team is flying solo.
Music and visual art are my passions. I wake up every day with a new idea and a fire in my eyes. It’s almost natural to stop in my tracks and write something down.
The notes app on my phone could be a book in itself.
I love talented people. Whether it’s an artist on Instagram showcasing their work, somebody dancing on TikTok, or even a quick ad for a clothing business: I’m surrounded by inspiration.
I’ve always been a glass-half-full type of human. The sun is shining, I’m alive, and I get to make my art on my terms.
There is an unspoken beauty in that.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Stop expecting us to do things for free.
If you want to play, you’ll need to pay.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
That being feminine and queer is unnatural. Loving yourself needs to be at the forefront of your daily life.
If those around you don’t show you their love and respect, it’s time for new surroundings.
There is so much power in femininity. Embrace it. Be as queer as you want.
