We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful No. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with No below.
Alright, No thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I have worked is me and Yg Yeck’s collab tape. He was the first big artist that I worked with and we worked with each other for 6 years. We have the best chemistry, and he was the artist that I really started elevating with. This was my first producer project that I put out and it opened a lot of new doors, and also helped me to build new connections. Dropping this tape also taught me a lot about the music business and the in and outs of dropping music. I gained a lot from this project to say the least.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started playing instruments when I was 3 years old, so music has been in me since I was really young. Once I started college, I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and one I was thinking about what I achieved in life and most of is had something to do with music. During this time I also learned about southside and metro boomin, and I realized that making music was cool. I did not think it was cool when I was growing up. All of my friends and I were into playing sports. I quickly realized that I was not going to the NBA once I started high school. So, I had to find something new, and that was music.
A problem that I solve as a music producer is helping the artist get out their thoughts. I am something like a therapist. Whether it is me just giving them a beat, or actually talking to them about their day. There are so many times that before we make music we have a whole discussion about life. I also act as a marketer and manager. Most of the artists come to me for the business aspect of making music, especially the ones who are still new to it.
What I am most proud of is making music that speaks to the listener, and is something that they will remember and connect to for years to come. I want to be the best, that is what drives me. If you are looking to be the best, then come work with me. We will get there together.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn trying to be everyone’s friend and trying to help everyone. That will only get you taken advantage of. There are many instances of me trying to make sure someone else is good over myself because that was how I was raised, but I got burned each time. Take care of the people that take care of you. Still be a good person, but watch who you give your time and energy to.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The rewarding aspect of being an artist is being someone the children look up to. I wish I had someone to look up to when I was younger, I feel like my life would have been so much easier if I had someone to guide me. Now, as a producer and a teacher, I can reach the children and guide them through their struggles in life.
