We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nneka Ibeabuchi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nneka thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Yes, I just create and post whatever I want without feeling like there’s a trend behind it. This mindset has gotten me this far and grateful for it.

Nneka , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Nneka Ibeabuchi, i’m a Nigerian-born creative based in NYC, working across photography, creative direction, and content creation in the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle space. My journey into this industry has been rooted in curiosity, instinct, and a deep love for visual storytelling. I didn’t follow a traditional path, I carved my own lane by capturing moments, building concepts, and sharing my vision with an audience that values authenticity and bold creativity.
Over time, I’ve grown a platform where I create meaningful content, from cinematic self-directed films to raw skincare journeys, campaign visuals, and everyday lifestyle storytelling. I’ve worked with brands like Adobe, Prada Beauty, Sezane, Genesis Cars, and Milk Makeup, bringing my eye and voice into each project with intention and originality.
What sets me apart is my ability to move fluidly between roles, behind the camera, in front of it, and everywhere in between, while keeping the work honest and connected. I create from a place of purpose and power, representing women who lead with vision and heart. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve built this on my own terms, and I want people to know that everything I share comes from a real place. The goal isn’t just to create—it’s to move people, make them feel seen, and inspire them to do the same.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to un-learn how to stop comparing myself to other creatives. doesn’t mater what field they’re in, I had to stop.
Early 2019, I learned how ‘in my own lane’ I really was and still in. I would always compare myself to others which is normal, but I didn’t obsesses over it, I just always felt this dark cloud of rush over me, rushing my story, rushing, my grind season, rushing my work, rushing God most importantly.
God was so tired of me trying rushing my goals and not pace myself. I feel like he just started showing me I was capable and that these people I compare myself to, sees my work and are inspired by MY work. They would pop in here and there, following me, watching my stories, liking some of my post. Honestly, that was a reset button for me that season. It was like a wake up call.
Ever since, I’ve been in my own lane and loving every single moment.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, it’s when I bring my vision to life and it looks better than I even imagined.
