Niy , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

I considered moving out of state to attend Clark Atlanta University, which was a significant risk. It was quite challenging to move to Atlanta without any family, friends, or knowledge of the city; in fact, some family members disapproved of my out-of-state move. However, I can say that since moving, I’ve had a lot of opportunities that I believe I wouldn’t have had if I had stayed at home. Additionally, I believe it has helped me become more independent when I’m on my own in the real world.

Niy , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m a stylist who studies at Clark Atlanta University right now. I began my job as a stylist during my first year of college. Although I had always been interested in fashion, I had no idea how to break into the field until I moved to Atlanta. I began producing content in 2021. I used TikTok to create relatable videos that quickly gained popularity. In addition, I once owned a lip gloss company named “Flamboyant by Fam0usniy” where I offered lip gloss along with sweets, lip scrub, and t-shirts. I’m currently pursuing styling, but after I’m established in the industry, I want to branch out and become an actor and television host.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Being a creative is extremely rewarding, especially when you realize how much people enjoy your work. Knowing that your content is truly being seen is equally important, in my opinion. It feels good to know that when I’m out in public, people may recognize me from one of my previous videos, old videos, or just my face. I adore knowing that my stuff is still being viewed and that people genuinely enjoy it.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

Having started my content in 2021 and seen it take off a few months later, I wished I had a manager or someone to keep an eye on things and assist me in landing brand collaborations. I had the impression that I lacked a lot of resources. I kind of took advantage of the fact that I truly had no idea what to do with all of these followers.
